My fps keep getting stuck at a low level for no reason.

In almost any game my fps get stuck at a low level between 9-25 for no reason. It doesnt matter where I look or what I do it just stucks at that level. I can leave the team, fly away from the map and only look at the sky with nothing in it and still the fps are stuck at the low level. On the next map my fps usually go back to normal a level till it get stuck again.

EDIT: It doesnt happen in other source engine games.

 

did you accidently limit ur fps in console by accident or something?

 

Figured out, sometimes minimizing and maximizing again fixes it.

 

I guess that was only random.

I have no other programm running, empires uses one core 20-21%. It uses around 450 Mb ram.

 

I get hugely low FPS in specific areas of specific maps at specific times. Take coast for example. There was loads of fighting in the south, my FPS and server tick was fine. But then they moved into BE main and my FPS dropped from 60 to 10, server tick dropped from about 25 (meant to be 33) to 7. Idk what it is about that area, but there are a couple of others like it. I know that's irrelevant to this thread but, just throwing it out there to see if anyone else has the same issue.

 

Same here.. Dropping FPS from 40-50 to 8-10 sometimes. I have to close empires and restart and then its working fine again...

 

I swear if mootant brok etracers again heads will rollllll.

 

I get massive lag spikes from what I suspect is particles.

Gonna try the uber-crap version of them and see if that resolves it.

If not, has demo for showbudget.

 

I ran a demo which was really laggy with showbudget on. Particles amounted for 20% at most. Something called othermodels took up triple that. And there were other more intensive things than particles. You will get an fps increase with Empty's other particles, they're virtually not there in terms of usage. But it's the same with any graphics settings that you turn off. It's like crying that having models with textures lower your fps.

well, I have similar issues, but not only in empires, may just be coincidence but fps in TF2 suck since the Source optimizations from the last month. I lost 30 fps in tf2 and empires. why?

 

Perhaps I should allow this, I mean you would be able to look through everything, but there isn't anything to look at in the first place! (Enjoy your invisible enemies)

I had this problem, my fps was stuck at 20+ everytime. I had to reinstall and it was gone but now my game stutters every 10 secs...

 

1. remove religion
2. melt ordinances into cake molds
3. ???
4. PROFIT AND CAKE

 

Problem is, most people (Americans) doesn't know where middle east and would prolly hit Australia or some other country.
