Even something simple like making them sink into the ground 16 units or so.

Many times I'll be shooting like a turret with mortars and some clever grenadier will hit it once and he will get the 'building destroyed' message but I won't even notice it's dead yet.

    Any ideas?

Make building explode or colapse with AOE damage on anything near or is inside?

This would affect gameplay though, as players dont like getting kill by having a building collapse on them.

But when vehicle get destroy, it should be blown up completely. And damage anyone nearby?

Maybe there could be set pieces ( or random?) on the building and when destroyed they fall but noclip through players. It would suck being the last person besides comm on your team only to die to a falling piece of building, wouldn't it?

im not asking for aoe dammage i just want it to be more obvious when a building gets blown up. the explosions that appear at the top of the building on death look exactly like the missiles i shoot at it...

even just do something simple like turn it darker then it turns currently..

Once empires moves to the new engine provided by the orange box; im sure some sort of cinematic physics for collpasing buildings; and tanks can be implemented...

Cinematic physics was just a PR term for adding animations that mimic physics. Those have been planned for buildings for awhile, and we're going to be adding them.

    that is SO DAMN COOL!

imagine planting a shell right into a building, only to see the back of the building billow out in a cloud of smoke and the roof cave it... holy shit.

I am so glad you've said that krenzo... i'm all excited.

I herd that in the SDK update there was a tool that would make them easier to do than animating them the old fashioned way.

Yeah, cinematic physics are all prerendered, it'd be impractical in this game cus you'd have to make several explosion animations for all the buildings, tanks, and maybe people to make it look nice.

Smaller things, like turrets, I only know they are dead if I killed them, and only because the little text says I did. Though it would be nice to let me know what, exactly, I blew up.

No, it was a commercial plug-in they were using to make the animations.

on this same note, would it be possible to have more animated building... erm... buiding builds?

i.e. warcraft 3, when you make a building you see all that scaffolding and shit pop up and disappear appropriately. I always thought this idea was cool. Or is that like the complete opposite of the collapsing shit?

I think an Areal Drop Of building in a box would be cool, and engy tool causes it to unfold.
