More commander oversight?

    A lot of players just go for tanks, or whatever and do not work as a team. In Natural-Selectionm, there is a beacon function that gets all players in one spot to rush. How about more commander oversight in terms of reinforcement control?

    I think the commander should be allowed to increase spawn times in case they are short of tickets. For example if the default time is 5 seconds, the commander can increase it 30 seconds or even up to a few minutes. This will help deter people from wasting tickets in the end phases of the game, where every ticket counts. Also when there is a very long spawn time, more soldiers spawn together, so the commander can issue organized attack orders.

    What if a griefer gets in the CV and sets the spawn time to a very high number? It would be extremely prone to misuse.

    Well how about if this option is only available during the later stages of gameplay? Like when there are only 25 spawn tickets left, and every ticket counts.

    Maybe it's good, or not. But one thing I know about games, I HATE waiting, so please, don't add increased spawn time (or loading time as in an other thread).

    I support this suggestion, it sounds like an awesome tool.

    I'm entirely serious.

    firstly: if you're in the CV, as a griefer, you can do a lot more than just increase spawn times. frankly you're fucked if that happens, so this isn't gunna add to that.

    but this is great because firstly, it really will stop your team from dying. they will not want to die.

    secondly, they will lie on the floor long enough to get revived.

    being able to set it to 10 (default, as it is now, as far as I know).. to 20, 30 and 60 seconds would be great for commanders that need it.

    I can't picture this being difficult to implement.

    I hate the idea.

    It drags out the game, and doesn't make it any more fun. If you're in a position where you have to conserve tickets that badly, you've probably already lost.

    I hate the idea. I hate to wait. Waiting 15s for respawn in DoD made me stop playing it.

    waiting isn't fun, i know.

    but it's your wanting to spawn imidiately, and the idea that you would, that almost certainly will cost your team the match.

    in the end i think it comes down to this:

    should new players (no offense reef) be allowed to spawn and get their trigger happy fill of shooting, as much as they like, at the expense of really costing the team the match,

    or should we allow commanders to set how the players play, so that you can win the match more often, but you risk pissing off new players that just want to sprint into turrets and waste all your tickets.

    Erm... Okay how about this...This is about ticket wasteing with ticketing being low,and could be activated straight away by commander.

    You can not ask the player to be supercareful but i know most players will tolerlate a slight change,for improvements not a cure such as this.

    What reef is saying he does not want to be strapped by a commander for whatever reason which he feels in unfair and i would be in the same boat.

    i think reef would agree with mad loses of tickets if that affects him from playing when he knows he was takeing some care.

    and make the ticket go to a bit more for a player who would care abit more.

    So lets keep players like reef, and how about this system which is based on increased spawn time when you waste alot of tickets,lets say 5 tickets a in 30 seconds will increase your spawn time by 5-10 seconds.

    other than that i would be tolerant if this system did this then i would let it go off my head.

    you would then feel .. okay i did waste that much .. ill wait a bit longer...rather then HEY WHYS MY SPAWN Longer no fair.

    because you would know why and would quite agree/agree with it and would counter both sides,but not complete restriction,this would reset in 1 minute.

    Because the feel of unlimited makes it fun,and not get hammered all the time by this.

    If it does not reach 5 tickets gone in 30 seconds then it won't hit the limit if its 6 tickets over the 30 second range to activate extended spawn time.

    and will let you get away with 1 kill typed in the console straight away and will last for lets say 30-45 seconds.

    if 2 kills are done in that period then it counts as a 2 wasted ticket.

    maybe forget about the kill in console.

    i can live with this type of system as i put it, but as commanderz puts it , i would get really irritated by this,its like adding insult to injury and would play less and the more irritated i would stop playing.

    because there are times when you know why you get killed easy and it is ridicolus such as on escort being nf.

    This can be upped to 7 (not 5 to activated longer spawn times)for 1 minute of 5-10 extra second spawns or wait for revive.

    this is for people who really waste it really badly.

    risk takers might not like it to much but,good risk takers would find a home for this system somewhere.

    other than that commanderz won't likely be getting what he wants, but it could be an Option, or a mild alternative such as mine because the feel of getting away with it more does add enjoyment.

    it's not about running to the front, dying, then respawning. nobody, not even new players do that.

    it's that after 10 minutes of solid combat, finally you die, THAT is when players are meant to just have a little patience and wait for a revive..

    The only problem at all i can see for this suggestion is that it's too useful. seriously. I see it entirely possible that on matches between two good commanders, both with less than 100 tickets, that both commanders will up the respawn time to 30 seconds. I played a match yesterday on money, and even though we won I would have upped the respawn to 30 seconds. It would be really useful, no more wasting tickets, but the game would not be as fun.



    I've changed my mind. I guess this is a bad idea.

    Sometimes Your rax at main base are getting pwned by 2 riflemans and 1 engineer. Only solution that I know to fix it is to respawn as much players as possible in short time in those rax and kill engineer and riflemans.

    Additionally: You sometimes are getting pwned right after leaving spawn (when Your base gets nuked). You die much, but only hope is to get to VF and get a tank.

    There are many situations like that. You can be very brave and very skilled and Your team gets pwned, but You are rich, so You decide to rush enemy with medium tank aldough they have 3 heavys, so Your team can repair/make walls/MLs/repair CV/buy tanks - and it is slow cuz they are noobs. You obviously die much and loose much tanks and You dont kill many tanks because they fall back for repairing if they are damaged. But You rush them and shoot them and keep them damaged so they dont ride in Your base, but instead they are falling back one after one for repairs, so there is 1 or 2 tanks halted by You at the base perimiter instead of 3 tanks IN Your base. Bah, You get punished respawn delay for dying.

    In my opinion, the game should be balanced by balancing teams. If both teams have N noobs, they loose tickets in the same rate. If one team has much more noobs than the other team, no ticket-usage limitation system will help it - they will loose.

    Tons of cons come with this solution.

    Gah, what's with this thread and horrible punctuation? Why do you Capitalize random words in Your sentances. And Use wrong punctuations at the end?

    Anyways, I think the idea could be good, if only used with limitations. Perhaps the commander could only up it above a certain amount if they have less than a a certain number of tickets? I.E. tickets go below 100, they are now allowed to up it to 30?

    I personally would *never* up it anywhere above 30, that's getting pretty annoying as it is. But, I'm patient enough to wait 20 seconds, considering I should anyways if there's a medic nearby. Of course, if some of those medic suggestions get implemented (mostly ways of showing new players they can be revived), then this would be moot.
