Modify Be assult rifle into BE shotgun(with pic)

None of the threads about what's not going to be Empires are significant in anyones life. But most of us still remember and don't mindlessly promote things that make the devs want to shoot us in the face.

Drum shotguns fit BE quite well TBH.

I just realised that it reminds me of the AA-12.

 

A Drumfeed autoshotty would suit the rifleman better imo, assuming its a replacment for the scout...

 

why not replace the assault rifle completely by an assault shotgun?
seems easier to balance towards close range

Bren Drumfeed 12 gauge auto shotgun with 20 shells

NF Double barreled sawed of 4 gauge pump shotgun 8 shells

 

That sounds like a balancing nightmare, you'd have to make each of the BE shells do no more than ~15 dmg D:

 

I was thinking more along 30-33 points of damage per shell myself, riflemen arent meant to be ballanced against infantry they are meant to turn infantry into minced meat...

Besides that the shotty would trade away long and med range for improved close capabilities...

Assuming that every pellet hit you could at best kill 6 people before reloading assuming a generous hit ratio of pellets 50% 3 people per drum...

 

but what about the NF shotty? They need to be equally effective, otherwise people wont bother.

 

83 points of damage per shell, it shoots 2 shells at a time, its spread is massive compared to the Bren shotty since its sawed of aswell while the Bren shotty is more refined and has a choke to better shape the shot pattern...

NF Shotty would load individual shells faster than the Bren shotty while the Bren Shotty would have a larger ammo capacity overall but a slower reload of the drum...

Just balancing the 2 against each other. It sounds like the AR's in 1.071b all over again. BE rape vs NF shit, except this time its shottys.

 

How so, anyone who played the game for less than 5 minutes could have pointed out the broken concept of the ar's... how it managed to go public is a greater puzzle...

 

In 1.07, yes. In 1.071b, no, it was the other way. I started playing 2 days before the 1b patch, and I went from being pissed of at OP NF rofflemen, to being pissed off at OP BE rofflemen.

making the ar into a shotgun would make it a natural balanced weapon by usage i think
