missing gamerules class 'CEmpGameRules'

Sorry for triple post. When I look in the server browser whilst the listen server is up, and add 127.0.0.1 to favorites, my server shows but the game column label is "Half-Life 2".

 

I have no idea what is broken, but follow the new news thread about being a steam tester and try that out.

 

Ok I started the download through steam, I hope this will work. I'll try it again tomorrow afternoon when it's downloaded.

Steam is designed to warn you if you attempt to install games that will not run on the hardware you have, it can only do this if it knows what hardware you have.

 

try downloading the 2.3 client from another source, like moddb.

 

No, we use default Source SDK dir paths. If client/server.dll from Empiresfails it tries to load ones from Source SDK Base. We should have disabled that long time ago.

 

Still no luck. I've given up. It's clear whatever you guys did to empires in the last few versions (it worked at ~2.24) made it not work on my PC, so I'm not gonna be playing empires for a long time.

 

Ok just to let you guys know, with the latest release of 2.31, empires has mysteriously started to work again. Perhaps the 2.30 binaries were dodgy somehow. Thanks for your help anyway.
