I think that the minimap was always bugged but since 2.26 the amount of wrong icons seems to be increased. This thread should motivate the developers to search again for a reason. It would be already an enhancement when no icon instead of a wrong icon would be shown. Maybe only show building icons when they are the same for the last 2 or 3 refresh cycles.
I agree... lately I have been seeing the icons change around alot more then usualy. Often I can sit there and watch out main barax icon change into a enemy vf and then into an enemy barax and then back into our barax all within 10 seconds.
When a building gets attacked, it sometimes changes to the color of the attacker. NF gren attacks BE rax, rax turns red. BE gren attack NF rax, rax turns blue.
*Bump* I still suffer from this minmap irregularities, refs looking like radars, enemy buildings appearing in the wrong places for a short time. Strange stuff.
Oh crap, an enemy rax behind our main! No, wait, that's just an unbuilt turret. Scout in southwest! Wait, that's our radar. Somebody go destroy that turret in middle and get us a... Nevermind, that's just our ref. It's probably more common just because autospotting means there's a lot more objects appearing and disappearing on the minimap. The slow map update rate has always bugged me as well, though I've come to understand it's a bandwidth consideration. A minimap recode can't come soon enough.
I can increase the update server-side, but if anything, I prefer the slow-update. Feels more like a scan of the area then.
Surely there is something else going on then just slow-updating? After all we shouldnt be getting enemy raxes in our main because of that?
No trickster, it's more like an enemy rax appears in the middle of our base on the minimap, but really was spotted somewhere else. It has nothing scansweep style.
