I guess that nobody likes the new automatic minimap targets. Hopefully this poll and these pictures will make it more clear to the developers what they have done. Current situation (emp_glacial_b2): red=spotting range (Where to place a ninja barracks? Where to park a ninja APC?) Suggestion (if we want to keep them): Minimap spotting only for barracks and range reduced to 30%. Green = Camera range Yellow = Radar range I personally don't need minimap targets or commander targets. Cameras are enough.
I kind of like this idea. also the minimap should show detection range (at least for commanders). The first pic made me lol reminded me of tribes 2 command circuit
This thread is retarded. It's been posted repeatedly that it's being removed, and there won't be any passive minimap spotting at all. So why do you continue to make threads about it? There was never any intention of keeping it, nor will there ever be.
if thats so, thumbsup for trickster :D not targets (safe for cameras and thelike) > any other target system :D
As I've said many, MANY times, it'll more than likely be like so: Cameras act as they always have done. Engineer radars act as they always have done. Big radar acts as it always has done, but can MAY also give passive orange diamond targets like a camera does, but will NOT mark infantry on the minimap, only vehicles. I don't see how this is difficult to comprehend.
I expected that this would be changed in 2.27. But because it is still there I'm not sure what MOOtant wants.
It wasn't changed because 2.27 was released in a very short space of time, simply to fix bugs, and required a DLL change rather than being called 2.26a, meaning people with 2.26 couldn't connect to 2.26a servers. This was in the news thread, you should know better before making threads such as these.
Nigga wat :p Trickster has been virtually yelling this non-stop since 2.26 was released. I also posted this: http://forums.empiresmod.com/showthread.php?p=327925#post327925
Yeah, well I just spoke to MOOtant, he does want to change what I posted up there a bit, but we'll see anyway. Having said that, he's going to be pretty busy during the next month.
Now I have few more minutes to elaborate: I talked with Trickster that time and didn't agreed on everything he wanted but it doesn't mean nothing of it will be done.
Isn't it interesting how 2 people can have a quite different view of the same conversation. :D IMO the radar should give you more and more information about the enemy the closer he gets. That's only logical, helps with the base defense and makes another building besides rax and vf interesting for a primary attack (and defense).
Nah, you just have to consider MOOtant. He changes his mood more often than a woman experiencing Niagara falls.
