Other mods don't need it. Their particles are the size of cranberries and disappear in 0.1 seconds flat.
Empty, you still don't get it? The word is useful...that one has big blocky opaque squares which are actually worse! It blocks your view all the time. I was wondering if you could make the smoke density less or something like that. The main problem are those smoke particles I believe. I had to use pickled heretic's pack and it works rather well, like a 30-50 percent improvement while still looking the same but I was hoping for something even better. How do you edit particles anyway? Any tutorials?
Inherent problem with less dense smoke is that they can be used to give an advantage. It's not easy to make an easier them less expensive. Pickled's pack is a prime example. I used that not because I had FPS issues, but because they were an insane advantage. No smoke on any explosions let me see right through everything. Personally, I wouldn't mind less smoke all-round to be honest.
good thing I didn't put any imput in here or else there would be no issue with the particles.. I use a combo of pickleds and that other dude who made one where its basically no smoke on every particle and i get about 50 to 70fps instead of 9. Less smoke all around would be great.
They should work in 2.3, I didn't really notice the visual difference but I compared it to stock, and there is a difference in FPS. That's good right, little visual tradeoff for more FPS. It's the pack where some guy improved later on in the thread.
Im blind half the time with the cheap particles. Every other source game has particles that my computer can handle. I dont get it. Make those particles transparent.
