Make heavies more expensive to build

    There is barely a reason to go for mediums. Heavy tanks should cost more per tank. While the research is expensive, think of it as an investment. You just wait a little bit you have have very cost effective heavies. Matter of fact.. too cost effective heavies.

    It is a standard to research for heavies or you will use the game. As I see it, heavies should be support by medium tanks. Much as tanks are supported by infantry. In the lore for these tanks, the heavies are describes as monsterous beasts! Well... it isn't really if thats the standard and they are so easily made.

    These heavies should be uncommon and expensive. Really expensive. Not outrageous amount but more then they are now. Medium tanks need to be a lot more useful then they are now in both principal and gameplay.

    You can't avoid an unskilled player taking over a team's asset. Nothing you can do about that.

    But you can minimalize the damage he can do
    Making heavies cost more will only increase the number of vf campers

    That would just encourage to build more heavies, which amounts in higher base rape and lag.

    What I meant to say was vehicle lag that causes the vehicle limit. There should be the ability to build enough vehicles so that your money runs out.

    Well, maybe you should go on the server forums and suggest to up the vehicle limit(one main reason that it's ten is just the default, you can raise it higher)

    if this is the reason then you might as well just remove heavies all together because they increase the damage the newbie can do

    Its not a problem for the server owners, its because of some coding conflicts, that hopefully the devs will optimize

    Just checked the prices for the tank chassis:

    So I would suggest to increase the cost for the heavy tank chassis by 150.

    Making the RESEARCH more expensive I don't mind, but not the individual heavies.

    If the research was something you basically needed to build say ten thousand credits to start and it took like five minutes, that would encourage people to get mediums for the same reason people get heavies now, because if the enemy does it will give them an advantage for long enough to make a difference.

    Heavies would be something you get not because it's vital, but because the game has stalemated enough to allow you to build a huge surplus and you can get heavies.

    But individual tanks cannot be made really expensive, arties already lose games, heavies don't need to do the same.

    Artillery doesn't lose the game if it is a controlled asset. If your going to go artillery in a game where you have many players (which equals many unpredictable variables such as players more likely to roll out nothing but artillery) you just have to lock the vehicle factory. It's more duties for the commander, but artillery is very helpful.

    Your main force needs to be tanks though. Just as heavies could be a controlled asset. If the heavies are expensive and your able to pump out then of them, then good for you. You had the money to build that many super weapons. Normally though, you wouldn't be able to and as for the "people camping the VF" then obviously people will build mediums instead as they are cheaper and don't have to wait as long. Hence, Medium Tanks are the Main Battle Tank as they are in real life and Heavies are specialized weapons that are far and few in between.

    Saying 'it doesn't do it if you do all these things' doesn't cut it, it shouldn't do it at all.

    Adding more ways for the commander to unintentionally break the game is not going to help anything.

    Like it was suggested in another thread, what about introducing upkeep costs to tanks? Tie the upkeep to the base price... maybe 5% of the vehicle chassis cost.

    Well i mean it's part of the game, you can't have a game that's teamwork oriented and expect to win any game regardless of your team, it doesn't work!

    What? Like you shouldn't have a team of all scouts or riflemen? You shouldn't if you want to win, but it still happens. Maybe they should fix that too.
