This suggestion makes a TON of sense. Since this is the MOST important class as well as the most noob friendly (All they have to do is run around, repair buildings and tanks. And if they see an enemy, they whip out the SMG.)
Yeah just change the order in the combo box and default class. We don't want noobs to use scouts by default if they don't know what they're doing. Also most of the team chooses engineer class so it will be less clicking for them.
Damn good point. Sometimes I have the feeling that my team only has so many scouts because it´s selected as default class.
It was supposed to get in before 2.0 was released, but I reckon it was just forgotten under the heap of other things the devs had to worry about.
im more for engineer after installation of the game. After 30 hours of playing you unlock the grenadier 20 hours more the rifleman and after 200 hours the scout. Why not just make it alphabetic? ENGINEER GRENADIER RIFLEMAN SCOUT
Nah, unlocking classes would be horrible. Cause you would want lots of grens for escort/any other infantry map.
This is extreamly easy to code and it could possibly solve the scout problem. *stamp of approoval* In sourceforts however there is a "sniper-problem". Every noob plays the sniper. When You tell him that more than one snipers in a team are useless because they can rarely hit anything in a move, they say that they can kill enemy snipers! Perpettum mobile! 2bad the game is a ctf and You need to score flags to win. The problem is that every noob thinks that when he gets something that looks like a railgun or AWM, he will pwn.
I totally agree, Scouts are harder to play and generally a bit less useless, even more so in the beginning stages of the game (even though that depends on the map).
I usually play engineer(N00bish yes) but I rarely use Scouts for four reasons: 1.I Always miss my target. 2.I am horrible at sneaking 3.Hell I cant even hold the sniper much less shoot it. 4.When your a sniper it's like a point and click adventure games where you stand in one place and laugh at every headshot. I like using engineers because their fun to use, easy to use, all they use is an SMG, good as meat shields and sometimes the hero in some situations eg. guy gets killed but someone else heals him. Grenadiers are a major kick in the backside for engineers because they always damage buildings making them fix them and the mortars are also annoying for them on levels where there are no vehicles. The Rifleman I use sometimes(apart from the Britoni ones I hate them) because their cooler and the most useful for capturing places(if they have grenadiers for back up).
its brenodi, not britoni.. also scouts can be lots of fun on the larger city maps.. nothing beats an ambush with a scout :D *sees player walk past.. *sees player walk past again *shoots with SMG2 *goes to hide in another spot :D *repeat! ZOMG!
