Only reason i got a job at my local mcdonalds is a friend recommended me to a manager.

Is this like a one-off (as in, one single McDonalds store) or rolling out everywhere? Because that's pretty funny, if not absurd at the same time.

 

Nope i work at maccas, pay is decent, amazingly flexible shifts and the work isnt that unpleasant.

Honestly, the economy is growing and the job market is fine. People who actually bother when it comes to looking for work find it fairly simple to get it, provided you don't want to work in a bar.

As I'm 2 weeks from leaving, getting work seemed pointless. Yesterday I managed to get a two day stint in a law firm though, thought I might as well make a bit more cash.
I have worked 3 other long term, part time jobs though, and plenty of little jobs in between. They were a cafe, bookstore and a kitchen, paying 15, 20 and 18 an hour respectively. All it takes is asking people.

EDIT: Actually, I guess I am technically employed in the bookstore still, but I've put my hours down to about 4-5 a week seeing as I'm leaving, so yeah

 

I heard the burgers in Australia are made of Koala meat.

 

That sounds so much healthier than the cat food taco bell serves, or the terrible industrial cows MD uses.

 

There is absolutely no good reason Australians don't eat 90% of their red meat as kangaroo. None. But 'muh feelings' because they hop around is apparently good enough that we have cattle instead, which ruin everything.

Not that I eat from that place, but a McRoo burger would be nice to see.

 

Also, why does googling on "crying kangaroo" show lots of women breastfeeding? Is that an Australian thing?

This is why everyone persuing a career using a degree should pick a post grad that allows them to walk into a real job straight after. This goes doubly so for arts students.
