I think it's because I'm running such a large resolution (1920x1080) when i start the game up it just looks like the blurry lost coast background all it says is 2.0 (like the title text thats supposed to be under EMPIRES) is my empires corrupt or is this an actual bug?
but before i adjusted the settings for my widescreen moniter it showed EMPIRES normal... so do i have to reinstall or not??
i believe that happens when you are on wide screen mode because i have seen this as well when playing empires on a wide screen setup and the rest of the game worked perfectly.
First thing in trouble shooting would be to undo the last thing you did before the error occurred and restart. If still no go try to reinstall. Hopefully you haven't deleted the installer yet.
It happens when you're using 16:10 ratio I think. I'm supposed to put another file in there somewhere.
1920x1080 is 16:9 ratio. so yea can you put 2 more background images for the two widescreen formats? also for those of you looking to use widescreen mode - it doesnt corrupt the actual game it just makes the start menu look funky. Edit - Here it is (warning large image) i find it odd that i can randomly take screenshots again >.> must have just needed a reboot
