Class: Self explanatory, same as empires, Engy, Scout, Rofl, or Gren. Their stats will be revealed below. Preferred Main Stat: Time Units, Stamina, Health, Reaction, Firearms, Thrown, Strength I'll try and pick a suitable recruit with a high value for that. How a recruit is chosen: Any recruit who comes into my office with 10 bravery is getting the boot, straight away. Between 20 and 50, they are assigned the name emp_recruit and serve only as cannon fodder, I scout with them, they take shots for you guys, and they're basically expendable. 50 and up, is useable material, I give them the name of the person who is first on the list. If you die, you may reapply on the list and you will be placed on the bottom, there may be significant delay between getting in, as I won't be buying shitloads of troops, and you'll only get in if someone dies and a recruit turns up with 50+ bravery. Classes: There are 4 classes. Riflemen I need lots of these guys, they do the heavy work, and carry, you guessed it, rifles, pistols, and grenades. These are the front line boys, so don't expect a huge survival rate, all emp_recruits will be riflemen. You'll get updated weaponry as we go on (lasers, etc) but I won't be giving you specialised kit, you're a foot soldier, you get standard issue gear. You're also first in line for armor. Riflemen may get booted up to the top of the list if a high bravery recruit appears with stats not highly suited for grenadier or scout. Engineer Support mainly, you may get a rifle or a pistol, but you won't be getting heavy weapons. You guys get access to medkits, detpacks, and grenades as your main tools. You guys are useful, but I won't be giving you priority over riflemen for rifles. If it comes to it, I'll simply issue you a pistol. Grenadier Heavy weapons guy, the downside is, I'll only make a character with 50 bravery, high strength and high stamina into a Grenadier, since they carry such heavy shit. Depending on the situation, you're most likely to get an autocannon or some other heavy general use support gun, or a rocket/missile launcher. You're also more likely to get armor, as I want heavy weapons to stay alive during a mission. Scout Finally, the scout, you're a highly specialist class, you get primarily pistols (so you can carry other special gear) and the occasionally long ranged gun (are there long range guns in this game? Like I said, I'm new.) You get access to all the fun tools as well, experimental grenades and such. This is my first time playing the game, I played for about an horu today to get familiar with the controls and gameplay, but I'm essentially a green commander. As such, I have no idea what to research, what to build, where to be, and how to play. As such, you guys can influence the game a little bit, and at the end of each "day" (not actually a day, I'll just be posting the events which occur over about a 1 hour or so of gameplay, with videos on the combat and some other stuff) at the end of each day, you'll be able to vote on a certain subject. Should we research lasers? Should we buy a tank? Should we make a second base? Etc. It'll be a yes no poll and ANYONE can vote, dead, alive or on the list. The minimum requirement is that you are involved, you can't just wander in and vote however. Saving Protocol I will only save before a battle, and at regular intervals in Geo-Mode. If we lose more than 2 named soldiers, I will reload. Any number of emp_recruit losses is acceptable. I will reload if we lose the main base to an assault, or we lose our dropship/interceptor. Final Notes: I still haven't found an effective recording program, so I'll only be working with screenshots until someone links me a recorder that works with Xcom for XP. I tried hyperCam, and it resulted in glitchy video ingame, I'll keep trying with it, but it's not looking good. I don't have a registered version of fraps, but it does record Xcom absolutely fine, the downside is, I can only record 30 second clips, so it's not highly useful for recording anything. When I do finally get a recorder, I'll only be recording battles (plus witty commentary), base maintenance will be shown via screenshots.
