kane.cx's back up, sorry for the inconvinience. A hard drive failed and it had to be changed, server's slow as heck when resync is in progress >.< Also, Sadistic Slayer emailed the abuse department, but I got that problem resolved quickly. I even bet he thought the server was disconnected.
One more proof you should _NEVER_ join his server. Having Wireshark running in the background should make you suspicious already . About the only way to counter that would be, hurr durr, to send so many packets that it crashes and/or eats all disk space. Which I'm not going to do. So don't join the server, ever. (Btw, UDP packets' sender address can be forged and they'll still reach their destination. Now think about that.)
Don't you guys know Wireshark (formally Ethereal)? But this confuses me a little: Source = 85.25.76.51 (kane.cx) Destination = 69.162.123.70 (ExiledServers.net) Or have you switched the column layout?
Yeah, I'm a bit confused, too. Is this a screenshot from a capture of the game server itself, or a capture from you? MAC or IP (or both?)
Playing on a server which is controlled by someone that is involved in hacker groups and sold aimbots and other hacks for cash isnt the best idea. They attacked garrys mod too, garry asked to block their IPs. Well lets just ignore them and wait til their server completly dies like all the other empires servers from outside of the community.
^ what brutos said The screenshot is what that guy sended to my ISP when i was bombing his server with random data. The point is that he has Wireshark running in the background, else he would never have noticed the attack that fast. That's the point why I said that's suspicious, besides that he probably uses Serenity which works by using captured auth handshakes.
Also, I'll be redesigning kane.cx somewhere later to include a user (mangement) panel, etc. I'm bored, y'know...
yes sadistic should have his server banned FOR EVER and if he continuously attacks us his ip should be hardcode banned like chopper.
And then you ban innocents because of how IP leases work. IP banning is fail. Chopper wasn't IP banned, it was STEAMID. IP's are very unreliable ways to ban USERS, since typically only servers with a corporation behind them (most home server owners don't spring the extra cash for a static IP) have a fixed IP.
Hmm... wireshark looks interesting. I am in need of a program that can track packets sent either to another computer, or to local host.
