I’m sure this has been addressed somwhere some time before, but can we expect Jeep Turbo to comeback anytime soon, or at all?
Not everybody liked them. In 2.24 turbo was needed, because jeeps were to weak. In 2.25 jeeps have 20%/40% more torque. Therefore turbo isn't needed any more. Turbo jeeps are mostly used to make some stunts with them. This is fun for one or two weeks but after it's getting annoying. If server owners will enable turbo again, I would suggest to increase the time between turbos to at least 90 seconds.
I think that's fair. I mostly liked just being able to turbo out of a trouble situation but I can see why people would be annoyed. Turbo with a time limit would be okay, I think..
Having a delay of 90 seconds isn't an option. Since orangebox, after the turbo is used, steering is locked until turbo is available again, albeit I've been looking at some of the hl2 jalopy scripts, but to no success so far. Also, I'll probably put it back on in July after my exams.
I already finished the updated jeep turbos for 2.25. If you guys want my turbos back, talk to napalm and vicki. If enough of you bug them and I approach them at the same time, we could have jeep turbos back in a day or two. nachos is already running turbos and I can't think of any other servers I would approach to add turbos, but if there are other, non-exile servers that are willing to implement my turbos, I am more than willing to help.
He's saying that steering is locked until turbo is ready to use again. If turbo had a 90 second delay between uses that's 90 seconds of not being able to steer.
I kind of miss the turbos tbh. I'd rather they just had enough power to climb hills... Wouldn't be as fun though
Yeah but your NF turbo was boring as shit. It was like a 10mph increase in speed. Using torque boost is infinitely superior. Better kick, reverse turbo and more control.
As far as I know it's just a few lines in the jeep script, pretty sure you can add it to any vehicle if you wanted. Because it's in the vehicle scripts clients don't have to have the same file, it'll just work. I say this without testing boost at all, but pretty sure it works. Not even hard to find, it's literally in the jeep script.
Can confirm it's easy as fuck, in fact it's so easy that you can't keep it as a secret. Honestly, I wouldn't mind making jeep turbo official because soon you'll be able to reliably hit the driver.
