Gives everybody a skill that can't be stacked An extra research branch for skills, but the commander can only choose 1 out of 6 general skills (debate on witch one is not included, I vote melee). That skill then becomes inherent, meaning that the whole team has the skill but nobody can select it. Why nobody can select it, is so that nobody stacks the skill. The research does not take efect untill the solders respawn or change loadout, those that already have the skill before the research, lose it (it becomes a unlock symbol) and the skill is locked. Research is cheap but takes alot of time. PRO adds a little more strategy to the game might be good for a turtaling team near the end-game gives everybody an extra skill CON scripts and coding the skill chosen may not be useful to everybody gives skilled players (thoese who can get all 4 slots open) a 5th skill ALT have the inherent skill take the 4th slot PS: I know that something like this has been suggested before PSS: I've been getting a lot of ideas for Empires recently...
fuck ya... everyone gets hide! Hiding grenadiers FTW! <Tank driver> nice day for a drive! Grenadiers> Tank sighted! FIRE! <Tank driver> WTF! Stop! Aim Where it coming from. <dead tank driver>
He said General skills. So things like Health Upgrade, Regen and Stamina Upgrade. Naturally, the commander who researches regen will be soundly booted.
i dont like the idea of any infantry aspect linked into research unless it gets done consitent and with more considerations then "uh i got random idea lololol" also i dont get why, other then "random idea"? it basically adds nothing and its also predictable that teams either choose health or speed upg making it even less of you postulated "strategic decision", it just buffs certain classes more ...
I now know why there isn't infantry research. No good ideas on how to work it out or what to add for each class.
Problem is your team really. In a pub game, then Health upgrade is probably a good idea. But in a clan match, speed upgrade would be more appropriate. Not sure if this is good or bad.
Tbh, you don't need player side skills if you have infantry research. Oh I know it's only for one skill, but the point i'm making is in most games that prefer research other than player skills are (lol RTS) either/or, rather than both. Skills put the upgrade in the hands of the player, infinitely preferable imo. Ofc, if you can think of some other aspect that would work well as research...
