How do you cause the world to explode before the world explodes? The instant you do it you would be too late.

I assume he means planet, because the universe can't explode, it has nowhere to ex- into, being already everything that exists.

'Known or supposed' encompasses everything which can possibly exist anywhere or anywhen. If I say 'I wonder if there is an enormous care bear shaped rock floating around somewhere' it becomes a supposed object. If the universe is finite then there is a limit to what can exist within it and therefore we can suppose all of it, if the universe is infinite then everything must exist within it and simply by hypothesising that it is infinite we automatically suppose everything that is in it.

In short, it means everything that does or can exist, therefore there can be nothing outside the universe because if there is, it becomes part of the definition of universe because universe means 'everything that does or can exist'.
