Hey sometimes I cant login all night, it just gives me the generic "cant connect" message, but other times there's no problem. If it was hijacked, but the dude wasn't on it all the time, would this be what happens? I never click on links except from you guys that I talk to on my friends list... Am I hijacked or is something else going on?
If someone was using your account, Steam would give you a message saying your account is logged in from a different location / PC. I've also been getting these "could not connect" messages lately, but they usually go away after a couple of minutes. Probably Steam crapping out.
Are you using our Steam Content Server? You can check this by seeing if there is a steam.cfg file in the same directory as your steam.exe. The contents are similar to this: If our content server is not running, your Steam client will fail to connect and give a generic "can't connect" message. To fix this, rename the steam.cfg to steam.bak and (re)start Steam.
ok cool, yea i do have that config file in the folder, thanks guys :D great yea, all better, thanks beerdude
Protip when your account is logged in somewhere else and you log in, you simply log in and the other end gets logged out instantly. You don't get told on your end the other end is logged in. I know this from the 100s of accounts I've hacked.
