Lol yeh, it's based on the fv101 scorpion tank, I used it as reference. A slightly different one than the one you posted though.

I'm going to spend a lot more time on making it look less like a scorpion and less fugly, not leaving it like this or anything ;o

Dizzy, tanks are classified as Armored Fighting Vehicles, I know, but this doesn't look like it'd be an AFV, it just seems the armament looks a bit too heavy. Otherwise it's a good design man.

No its a light tank that was in service in the british army in the mid 70's to the late 80's/early 90's. Was a very effective tank and helped us win the Falkland war very succsesfuly.

 

what we need on top as a turret is probably a central rotating turret, with a cannon on the left side and a missile rack on the right. Let me draw something up after dinner and i will show you what i mean.

okay, this is my concept afv turret. probably a bit to advanced for your tastes though...

 

Only problem with that design is that the camera would have to be ontop of the cannon, meaning the mg would be completely out of screen.

 

Or make it as it is done with artillery.

The cannon is at the side of the screen and camera is positioned next to the barrel on top of the turret. MG would be under the camera and missile pod at the right side of it.

Could work.

I don't want to have the cannon on the side, camera needs to be centered on the main weapon of the tank, it's a design decision. Right now there are no bones or attachments for the mg, means it either needs to be implemented or it won't be possible to make the mg have a different position.

 

change the way that the MG tracers are coming out of the tanks?

i mean, no one even notices them really in the first place...
