As the release date for 2.25 is approaching (stated by Brutos) and there hasn't been a real balance improvement for 2.25 to pursue, I think it's a good idea if we could make a list of the things you guys think needs to be changed, or even reverted to a previous version.

I think it's the best option right now seeing we don't have a dedicated scripter to take care of the balance.

One of the things that Empty pointed out and many others have agreed with is to lower the armor hp to pre 2.23 values, which is a start. I've got the old values still so that's pretty much set in stone as far as I'm concerned.

    But what else?

I don't know if the reflective bug is resolved so far, but we would have to keep in mind that it might be fixed, or should be fixed for 2.25

    List of suggested changes:
    - Lower armor hp to pre 2.23 values
    - remove MKII (if theres no other choice)
    - Increase max weight of medium tank
    - Remove 2slot MG of heavy tank

    (I'll add more here)

Why. They were still imbalanced back then. They'll still be imbalanced now. They'll be even more imbalanced because everything won't be balanced around them. Just balance the 2.24d armours, and buff the RPG if needed.

Just use Trickster's scripts. They aren't balanced, but they are a reasonable improvement from 2.24d. It would be a quick stop gap measure but it would work.

Any reason for that? Me and Empty didn't exactly come eye to eye in the past, and he is still critical towards the balancing (not that I mind). That didn't stop him from proposing particle effects to us and having them accepted. If someone proposes something (scripts, models, etc), we'll look at it professionally.

As far as I can tell from Pickled, after script_manifest got removed he wanted nothing to do with 2.25 and the current development (meaning not using his scripts). Its a shame because I think he made some good changes.

I can talk to him, but I don't think he would be too willing (especially after being permabanned).

Its not really much of a problem, since Trickster's scripts were functionally similar to (and indeed made in collaboration with) pickled's scripts.

He has a sharp eye for balance. We can use someone like him.

Trickster's and pickled's are discrete values only, I had asked Pickled to work out a real balance script for 2.25 but it seems he doesn't intend to do that any longer. If someone can send me the txt files of Trickster's script I can incorporate those changes, but I still reckon we should go a bit further.

That's what the discussion is for. The way it looks now, you'll be stuck with half of the leftovers from 2.23, it's your pick.

The discrete values were from what I understood a stop-gap, we don't need to rely on those measures anymore as we can incorporate in the next patch.

The 2.23 armor buff that I did unbalanced the other armor (reflective wasn't affected that much) and the best choice here is to revert them.

Fight the changes you don't agree with and suggest those that you do, and hopefully we'll get as close as possible to a better balance as we can. And let it be obvious that the big changes will be avoided as much as possible.
