I'm considering releasing one last version of Homeland. I haven't been playing the game much so I'm unaware of any issues people might be having with it, so I'm open to any and all suggestions from people who are still playing. Possible issues that come to mind are: - res flow (too much too little) - ticket amount (same concern) - basebuilding room - size of roads - cars (not working, too buggy?) - availability of infantry cover - roof haxoring - commander visability and maneuverability - lighting - lack of decals/overlays Those are just some things that come to mind. You don't have to comment on every issue, just the ones you have a problem with. This is your chance to have a say in how a map is finalized. I'm not a dev, so I actually listen and respond to criticism. I won't change some things, though: - engineer walls must stay disabled - no raised sidewalks or displacements on the ground (messes with building placement too much) Also, if anyone has custom content (models, etc) that they are just dying to have implemented into an urban empires map, I'm open to using it. Thanks.
Can you remove some of the cars from the streets. Especially when you drive the NF CV it is very cumbersome to push them all out of the way. And I think NF has a little advantage, because when they have a base in North middle they can directly attack BE main through the building.
Block of the tunnels in the top right outside of the NF main. Its too easy for BE players to hole up in there and demo NF's main.
The no walls thing is great. I think it helps this somewhat small choke pointy map flowing. Letting engys build walls will just open new doors for exploits and congest everything. If they need cover the comm can drop it.
Does it have a link to the model in the .res file? If it didn't the client wouldn't download the model and, therefore, no dome.
I just checked the res file. It doesn't contain links to the dome. That's epic fail on my part. Must have done it to bug test and never fixed it. I'll look into car placement - maybe push more cars to the side of the road. It can mess up the NF CV pretty bad if I recall. As far as the problem outside of NF's main - do you think I should close off the warehouse facing the base? I could revert it into a solid building and restrict access to only the underground garage. That's a major change, so I want to get a few comments before I go through with it.
Maybe don't go that far, but close up the windows/major opening into the NF base. I've played matches where 3-4 BE players could hole up on the second floor and HMG whore/nade spam most of NF's base. An alternative could be to restrict people from entering on the other side of the building away from the NF main. You could make it where you can drop down but not get back up on that side.
I agree with ScardyBob. It's too easy to get up there and nadespam NF's main. I don't think there's anything comparable on BE's side of the map.
