Ya, my recruiter was telling me about that. But I dont wanna do it cause I had 2 bros in the Navy. so... I dont wanna see Drainage Babies
Oh yeah, the Vanguard submarine thing I heard was that they use Windows to operate the submarine. I don't mind Windows, but nuclear weaponry should never be user friendly.
I know that, but id find it hard to believe you'd walk into the carriers mess hall and theres a McDonalds and a Subway or something.
Sometimes the chief's mess will try to raise food by buying 100 cheeseburgers and selling them at the galley. That's the closest you'll find to McDonalds on the mess hall.
There was a big movement to get a Tim Hortons at the Canadian military base in Afganistan, like this weird commercial-nationalism. It seems it was a reaction to the American military bringing similar chains with them to Kandahar.
i heard that submarine food is all gourmet and shit, and that the sub chefs have a huge budget and can practically get any cooking job they want after their service because of the challenge of being the sub cook. But then again, idk squad about the military. I also heard that most of the MREs were actually pretty palatable. I know that you can remove the heating device in them and make tiny little fireworks/explosives...
I'm using Windows because I'm used to it. Screw the whole fanboy thing. I never had Linux, don't know what it's like, but it's foreign to me. I toyed around with a Mac once, but I'm used to Windows, so I stick with it. And hay Dumpster? What do you use again? Windows, right?
They're actually better than some of the shit you get served in resteraunts today. That, and they got an indefinite shelf life. I got about 20 MREs from military surplus in 2002. I heated one up and ate it yesterday. That beef and rice pilaf was good.
Captain: FIRE!!! Lieutenant: um..sir....tubes 1 and 2 are clogged with AOL Disks, tube 3 is running a virus check and tube 4 blue screened. Captain: then we have no other choice....RAMING SPEED!!!! Lieutenant: helm control has a corrupted registry sir... Captain: damn.... And before anyone gets into an OS war, I am just poking fun, I use windows XP for my gaming PC and it does that wonderfully. My work computer uses Mac OS X 10.4.10. So I do use both and have no problems with either.
