if they are bad drivers then it should be no problem. they will die quick then you put out your tank.
^this. Also, commanders can still restrict vf. I don't see a problem with restricting individual chassis types as well. Again, commander can be just as much a douche fag and not let you build any vehicles, so him only letting you build lights is not any worse.
Really the only two chassis ATM that need limit are arty and heavy. 3 arty and 5 heavys is plenty to mow down the enemy.

I'll basically fix that. Also, prerequesite system has been in for ages, just unused. I'm not touching it until a complete overhaul of the vehicle/research scripts.
meds and heavies sail too much in the same waters as far as im concerned also heavy is better then medium in all fields, even economics... so medium in perspective is useless
This please! Sounds great! That would change the choice from reseach either heavys or meds, to both research paths are usefull even endgame.
You are all forgoing research strategys and that all maps have to much rez, especially when considering wages (don't take mee wrong, i like wages). APC with mg rush, arty rush, medium + arty. All can win over heavys, main problem is to much rez and that we only have like 2 servers so the meta game is tiny.

You know what, heavy cap limit is good. Forget my medium tank idea too unpopular anyway. Do a heavy cap limit, that way you don't have to change resource costs and research time.
Forcing people to use mediums because you only get X Heavy tank supply is bad balance. If you want people to use mediums make them worth it. Make heavy research take longer, or make heavies more expensive, or make mediums cheaper, or give meds a 3 slot MG for an absurd DUHMG tank or whatever.
Making mediums worth it would require there to be a situation where heavies are not worth it. How is that a good thing?
ah like command and conquer, how you could only build and have 1 Cyborg Commander or 1 Ghost Stalker or 1 Mammoth tank at any time. the thing is.. who gets to drive/use the heavy?? perhaps it should be controlled by the commander?
