this was just me, imagine a huge game with everyone in a tank, I didn't give the nuke effects justice here, they are much bigger ingame with a smoke effect afterwards. some grenades are also messed up. I am against Empty's Particles being in the next patch
lmao... I didn't try that many weapons in the testpires but, those look FPS kungfu crazy. Like Ninja Assasin(fucking awesome move) on your fps. Gota admit they look awesome... but people spamming them... all your going to see is rainbows and no detail. Your going to get a tan from your own monitor. lol Marcin... Put Empties Minecraft particles in.
lol last I changed particles was ages ago. Also people bitched forever about particles looking underpowered and other people bitched about particles being expensive. I made the particles cheaper and more powerful looking with the fake bloom. Basically I've come to the conclusion I can't fucking please any of you so fuck off you get what you're given. btw the hdr on arid is fucked anyway.
cheap particles, expensive particles.... IDK as long as they are free! (that's the only thought I can post without insulting empty after the post he made )
U DARE 2 DEFY THE GOD OF PARTICLES?! I tested them particles enough to say that they aren't dropping a lot of FPS as you guys think they do. But damn, I've to admit that some of the effects are really god damn overpowered looking... especially the mortar. Who the fuck said they looked underpowered?!
Reznov, ive been playing a few months with these particles and the mowtar one is prett good when you get used to it,
....am I the only one who thinks that a white circle is a poor representation of anything but a nuke? that's pretty much what it is... just a white circle... and shouldn't a mortar shot be relatively low on fire and flames, and heavy on like, straight concussive blast warping effect type stuff? pretty much all the cannons: too bright, too much flash, too big. I'm not trying to be insulting as these are pretty cool, but to me the explosions and particles are cool in concert with the vehicles and other gameplay elements. They shouldn't block everything out quite so... obnoxiously... my suggestion: tone 'em down, make them flashy and bright, but somewhat smaller and more grounded in "reality"
Well, I spoke to Empty, and someone in the past (developerwise) made it abundantly clear to him that all his explosions have to match the radius of the damage ring, which has been limiting him a fair bit, because some explosions have pretty large damage radii, but by the time you get to the last 20% you're not really taking much damage and shit, so we just said to scrap that match-up so he has a lot more freedom with space.
