The keys approach suggested here would actually be a good way of implementing it. Either that or it's just been suggested a lot more clearly then before I would suggest that if the owner of the keys gets into another vehicle he would lose the lock on the first vehicle. And perhaps some sort of graphical notification on the locked vehicle so you're not wondering why you can't get in. The timer would have to be kept low to avoid griefers. Maybe 30 seconds or a minute at most?
I noticed tha apc right after I posted that. As Darg says. This is a good way to do it. I have been thinking of how to make it work without getting in the way since first release. To bad I cant program I would like to see something like this emplemented soon, or atleast before you run ads.
Everybody gets mad at the least when an emp_recruit gets in the apc and floors it right into the enemy. This also can deny a team that is loosing, who has a chance to come back with the opportunity of the sneak apc attack. Also there are those out there who think its funny to steal a tank when an engineer driver backs into safety to fix his own tank, then of course its full throttle into the ml turrets. Maybe you guys put a feature that allows the driver as long as he is within a certain distance or time period to keep the keys. If he leaves, dies, or time runs out the keys go back into the vehicle. One last thing. Please change the default spawn point of the APC away from the drivers seat. EMP_RECRUITS wouldn't know how to change seats to drive it off. Please fix this. When you guys push to get more players there will be a LOT of noob's and the problem will get a LOT worse. Thanks, Mark
people will no longer spawn in driver's seat come 1.05 As for locking a vehicle. It's been suggested before and although it was well received, is unlikely to make it in any time soon.
I thinks it a good idea. Put the key as fifth "weapon" so you can give it to teammates by choosing it and leftclick while aiming at your teammate or get it into the emp_menu
I agree with the key idea lasting for a certain period of time, about as much as you need to heal your tank maybe, but if you die, anyone can climb in.
