But things do change. Peoples views on the old change. Such has happend with empires. So new things can be introduced that were once thought strange.

Dont worry. Exam stress is getting to him. Its A level exam time so stress is to the max. (including me). And the thing is. People have never said WHY it would never work. All weve got so far is "cus its shit". Which in my opinion is immediate forfit of argument

What exactly would be the point of this gas artillery then. If it only makes infantry combat weird, it would only be useful in the endgame. Vehicles/buildings would take no damage from this, consequently, get into a vehicle and boom. Gas arties go boom. YAY FOR NEW WAYS TO MAKE ARTY EVEN MORE USELESS!!!!!
plus we need more anti-building/vehicle things NOT anti-infantry. We already have artillery, he cannons, bio missiles, bio mg, 50.cal hmg, mortar, mines, all the infantry guns, and nukes to take care of infantry, WE DONT NEED MORE!
There was once the suggestion about smoke nades for APC's, since you talk about smoke particle effects, maybe worth a try after reseaching biology, biological warfare nades to poisen out campers, we have currently only late game weapons (arty/nukes) for that purpose
yes but the WMDs in empires suck - its like in quake 2 suddently everyone would come around the corner with BFGs and the other teams only have nailguns. even if both teams have equally good (haha) researches, it totaly ruins the game for the bigger portion of players. even the infantry guys on the team that got nukes dont have other inf to kill anymore ...
Gas arty seems like a plausible idea, but it would need to be tweaked a lot to get it where it's reasonable imo. A slow damaging type of gas would likely work best, possibly distorting vision for a few seconds after exiting the cloud due to eyes watering/burning etc. As for anti building tank weapons, why hasn't anyone suggested a higher yield Seismic Missile/Arty? Essentially a buffed engineer nade of sorts that does great damage to buildings but nothing to infantry pretty much. Seems like it would go a long way towards fixing that gap.
