gameinfo.txt

    So I am pretty sure that I set the Hammer right, but when I try to open Empires with Hammer, it say that gameinfo.txt isn't the the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\USERNAME\empires\empires folder but when I go to that folder the txt file is clearly there. Any Solutions?

    i think hammer doesnt only look if the file is there
    it might open it and look into it too
    so it might be that the content of your file is fucked up somehow

    Could someone send me a link to download it then, just to see if that might work. I also reinstalled hammer but that didn't work.

    This is similar to my version.
    Not surprised actually, as i had that same message many times in the past, and never had it anything to do with the file itself.

    There's a good chance some incorrect setting in Hammer causes this somehow.

    With some luck the cause can be found in the gameconfig file; i'd suggest tripplechecking this:

    just to clear it up - as to scouto you ignored the part where it tells you that it needs Games { ... } in the gameconfig.txt ;)

    maybe we should point this out more clear on the wiki. maybe even include a cnp version of the gameconfig.txt.
    ill do that tomorrow ...
