:D ok , you've read the title , and you can guess this is a thread for posting all those priceless , and just stuped videos. :D :D

ok, for everyone who dosn't know how to take videos and post them on the web
, but really wants too . read this.

1) - download "FRAPS"
from the following link below , run the installer.

all you need to do is configure what folder the videos are put into. by pressing the "change" button , under the "movies" tab.



2) - leave "FRAPS" running ( just minimise it )

3) - play Empires

4) - whenever you see a something good happening , something stuped , or even getting video evidence of people exploiting as evidence to get a ban on them.
just hit "F9" ( unless you've changed the short cut ) , and a video will film for 30secs

- this may affect your fps , mine wasn't affected much at all , you can change how many frames it take per second if you wish....

5) - ok , but the vidoes are far to big to be put online. so i use the windows movie maker , which came free with xp. , you can download it from the microsoft windows updates on you computer , or just use your own video editor.

6) - i imported the video ( under the "file" tab ) and edited the length to get rid of uninportant extra. Then clicked on the "save to computer" button / word thingie , and selected "low broadband" from the list.

7) - now the video has to be uploaded to the web , i suggest using your own "file transport protocol" browser , ( i havn't actuly tried it - but hear is't easey ) sign up to "youtube" and upload your video there.
or , as i'v seen other people do , sign up to google video beta.

8) - just remember to place a link to the video on this thread.

Oh man, that is awesome. We should make a separate game mode where everyone gets a tank with jousting capabilities and no real weapons.

 

Oh man! I remember when we did that, I almost forgot it was recorded :p

 

Maybe this is why people want tanks to be heavier... I DEMAND THEY DON'T NOW!

 

The fact that the tank flew like that probably has nothing to do with its weight, and more to do with the fact that the rotating turret was (since it is not physically simulated) an unstoppable force.

That said, I would be willing to wait an extra month or two for a tank-joust mode. o.o

 

I imagine that would be a pre 1.0 beta test.

 

Maybe Jeep Jousting with lances, where there's one drive and one lancer, killing the driver 2 points, killing the lancer 1.

 

This was about four days before the release. I would've just left it in, but everyone wanted it removed.

Well, so much for using the main cannons if it were still in. People would just throw on full armor and a 3 phase and charge tanks to knock em upside down or away. It's a little too effective.

Would look kinda silly.

 

Oh man.

When this mod is completely done and has thrown CS off the throne, you HAVE to add a jousting mode.

it was a bit like an earthquake from the amount of grenades , rockets , and nuke missels and cannons
we held on throughout the earthquake hitting 8 on the ricker scale , lol

I think I was in that game... And there really should be some sort of a toggle for mappers to prevent anyone from repairing some of those buildables... We had so much firepower and engineers pounding that wall and still the health meter barely dropped...

 

Why block that? should the NF also lose all weapons and have an auto-death mode so the BE will have an easier time to get through?

Repairing is a good portion of the game, and that wall is the sole point for keeping vehicles out.
