No. The founding fathers outlined in the federalist papers guns were for MORE than the militia...and the militia was not the standing army.

Learn the facts before you speak as if you know them.

When you shoot, you don't really wing. Not in self defense. You shoot...you might kill, you might not.

I'm not going to allow politards to hijack my glorious thread, but

tazers are pretty inconsistent. both prongs have to be fully attached to incapacitate someone. if one is deflected by a bit of clothing or whatever, the tazer is completely useless. some people are even able to resist the shock, and in any case, any sort of followup shot is impossible. reloading a tazer requires that you remove and replace a cartridge attached to the front of it which is pretty cumbersome.

stunguns are even worse. they literally are just ineffective. if you take a close look at my potato gun in the screen you'll notice there's a stungun attached that is used to ignite the fuel mixture. I cannot tell you how many times I accidentally shocked myself with that thing. It got to the point where I would barely even jump when I shocked myself. I could not see that thing deterring me at all if someone waved it in my face.

It seems to be reliable enough for most of law enforcement... Also, the X3 can fire three shots before reloading (assuming you have decent aim, you can take down three people without reloading).

Range is limited; Heavy clothing can defeat it. Sorry Recon, but for self defense I want a reliable weapon...and that's exactly what a glock is. I can practically leave my glock in salt water and it'll still fire.

Also, that X3 doesn't look like it's easy to buy, and the prices I do see range up to or above $1000 USD. Yeah....given my Glock cost me less than $600...hmm. Also, battery driven self defence is asking for trouble. I can leave my glock loaded for years and it'll fire. Not so of a taser.

I can leave my halberd in salty water for a few centuries and its deadliness will only increase. And it gives me the range and sweeping power none of those gadgets you guys talk about do!

Halberds are designed for crowd control.

    Halberds are for easy decapitation.

They use them in a pretty specialized circumstance. Usually they tazer elderly people in wheelchairs or people who aren't actually resisting arrest. Anything that is a legitimate threat they'll shoot to kill.

actually no, halberds are for unarmed crowd control

they where a weapon used by guards in the castle age to keep people away from the gate until they had time to close it and other similar applications

cutting off peoples heads was usually done with an axe or guillotine, or with a sword if the intent was to kill the person and the head could still be attached (full decapitation was a way to insult the victim beyond death, while a sword would just cut the spinal cord)

if one would preform a decapitation with a halberd the halberd would probably be destroyed in the process, its only function was to swing wildly to the sides to cut and slice, not chop
