If I remember correctly, the hands and arms are tied to the models, they're made with them, so you cannot replace the hands and arms without having to do that for each model in the game. You can however change the hand/arm materials. This isn't Empires unique, it's a technique most source games use. EDIT: This is for the first person view. For the third person view, they're using whole models so your best bet would be to edit those.
I know that already. What I am wondering is if it's possible to do that with body groups. That would at least be the easiest way I could think of.
im no expert on guns but, that bore looks astonishingly large unless its a single round shotgun pistol. I don't think you should be able to stick your thumb in the hole of a 9mm.
You are completely correct, the bore is ridiculous on that thing. It looks wider than that of a gun that shoots bmg.
Thats a big gun you got there. So looking for a bullet that would fit Fire's gun I found this... .500 S&W Magnum & .50AE Even though these are relatively new cartridges, I’ll be referring to these as the granddaddy of all bullets. Coming in at a half and inch wide and packed with gunpowder, these babies are the most powerful shot around. Pros: If you are holding this gun, people will run from you. There will be no surviving a center mass shot from these. Heck, the .500 is used for hunting bear. A handgun...for shooting Grizzly Bear. Fire this thing off at a shooting range and enjoy seeing everyone there duck from the sound. Cons: The recoil from either of these rounds is like getting brofisted from God. We’re talking physically painful to shoot. Also, if you hold the .500 revolver wrong it can and will remove fingers (See Mythbusters Episode #121). I wouldn’t even hand this gun to my worst enemy to fire as their first shot. I don’t think you can comprehend the sound and force of one of these going off. Dang I want one though.
It is actually a 10mm and yes the gun was a bit small in comparison to the bore. Now everything apart from the barrel and the bullet in it is 1.32 times the original size. That should look better. It's a bit hard to get size specifications for guns. At least for someone who doesn't know where to look.

welp, I think I am done with today's modeling session. Gonna finish up the rest tomorrow and then do lowpoly, baking, texturing, animating and importing in Unreal and Source if I can.
I am thinking about a name for the weapon manufacturer and the model. Possibly even a logo design for the manufacturer. Anyone want to pitch something in or has any ideas? I would probably put it where the mouse pointer is in the following screenshot. I also made the breach non-symmetric, lowered the slide a bit and made sights. Simple iron sights, ... ...and a little laser projector to put a red dot on a glass pane in the front to allow for easier target acquisition. Things left to do: -trigger -trigger-guard -magazine -grip details (maybe just on texture though)
