looks very good, but.. who in the world is gonna carry that heavy thing into battle? The Mountain? Yes.
Sketchfab finally included PBR into their online viewer: https://sketchfab.com/models/431db4d28adb40bfba1585abbdc70341
started to refactor the assault rifle for Unreal Engine. Just imported with proper scaling, the thing was just a bit more than half a meter long. I scaled it up to about a meter length. But now the caliber proportions are a bit out of whack. That's 5.56mm and 230mm you are seeing there.
Currently trying to design a new BE jeep. I am kinda stuck on getting ideas for the initial shape right now, the only thing I got vaguely done is the front so far: Any constructive input is appreciated. For now I will have a look at redefining some of the tiled building textures to actually use some more of the shader capabilities.
That is one angry front. I don't know what you had in mind for the rest, but I'd make it lower in general. OR perhaps just flatten the headlights so that they don't stand out to the top.
I love that front. It looks a lot like a mitsubishi lancer, which pretty relevant to BE's style. As for the rest of the architecture, what about a golf cart type rear design?
Remember account for spherical wheels and avoid goofy weight distribution. Those sorts things can be corrected on the back end, but it's better to work around them initially.
Thanks for the tips so far. As I said, I've also started working on the materials. Here's the famous BE floor. (All in an evening's work.)
Fancaaaaay Also I guess the front would look much better with the rest of the body there, I didn't visualize it very well.
Thank you very much. I think I'll maybe tinker with it a bit more, then see if I can get it ingame. The rest of the body is just the problem, I'm currently lacking ideas, but I think doing something else in the meantime really helps. I'll just let the ideas come to me instead of wrecking my brain to find some half-arsed solution. What I would also like to know, do you guys think the BE jeep should stay a 2-seater and stay with the driver seat on the right? (Those are two separate problems. I think I will go with a 2-seater and move the steering wheel to the left side, but that's just me.) I want to hear your opinions.
The problem with the Jeeps is I can't really find a good low-slung version to link. But what about something a little like this with smaller wheels, built closer to the ground (more like our current) and with a rear-facing seat in the back (instead of front facing). So it'd have 3 seats, one facing backwards.
I desaturated the color a bit to fit better with the one that existed originally. This is how it looks ingame with a 2048² resolution.
