The problem is that you cant just spawn somewhere else fast without suiiciding. It's also hard to notice your team has a point on the other guy's base.

It's the same as in Empires, just you don't lose a ticket. Maybe we should have a teleport-esque thing in the barracks or something.

LOL i joined a game, and started spinning. Something messed up and I kept spinning counter-clockwise. If i pulled my mouse to the right i could kinda look straight, but after running out of desk space and fully extending my arm, i would keep spinning. I had my joystick enabled for flight, so i thought it was the problem. It wasn't though and I gave up.
I couldn't see anything in the controls that would make it work so i just gave up and went to bed. I'll give it another try when i have time to make it work.

Realism is spinning around a bunch in a game then throwing up

I had that exact same problem! After I downloaded and installed the proper drivers for my joystick, it was fixed. I have a Saitek Cyborg Evo, is that what you have?

well if it was that bug, how did I manage to get a ship then get to there base? No... I didn't hijack one. :P

No I mean realy... they camped! I can't fight blue ships all by myself out there... they compleatly outnumber us in number of ships they can fly out at once. So I decided to hang out with the campers.... the damn thing makes ships and they just sit there. everyone gets a damn ion cannon or flame thrower and waits for a blue ship to land.... kill the guy then wait some more.

I duno if its cuz that map is easy for blue to dominate space so red just camps... or I just had the bad luck of keep ending on red team with auto select and they all campers. :(

When I managed to get on the blue team... if someone got a blue spot... I would find a way to kill myself to spawn there... even if I had to grab a ship and fly there.

PS a tip for taking over blue hangers. Get hacker class... fly into hanger next to door... go under the door and hack. soon as you see blue guy show up on that meeter run to one of there ship and hijack it... and fly into there other hanger.... repeat as often as you can. If you keep it up... odds are you will capture a spot or draw them all out of space to fight you and give red a fighting chance in space. Seems to always work for me. :D

Nah, I have a Logitech Attack3. I guess to test it out, I should play SW battlefront 2, to get the whole space battle thing going. Actually, I should play that game regardless, as it sounds like the same thing and it's stable (Also AT-ATs pWN).

Back to the joystick, my drivers are all up to date (logitech is pretty good for that). I really don't think the joystick is the problem, but disabling it the next time i play will likely give me a real answer. I'm sure I'll find a way to get it working, I only have one class left this week

Yeah, if you didn't try disabling it, do that. That's how I nailed down that my joystick was causing it to wig out.

Viro, an easy way to deal with the campers on the NGM is to simply ignore the hangar. The ideal way to win is to destroy the three sensor arrays the Surefire has mounted on it, and if there's nobody defending it, it's pretty easy to do if you get at least one person to help. As for the NGM having a certain dearth of fighters... Yeah, it's true. The map needs a little more balancing.

I gave this mod a shot, but it seemed like it lacked any sort of direction. The point of space ships here is to fly to the other hangar and that's it. That's a huge waste of a gameplay element. Then infantry combat is really lacking. I don't even understand why they have it in. Instead of just focusing on space ship combat which is the most unique feature they have, they've instead split their efforts between spaceships and infantry, making both mediocre. I think these people also never played BF1942 or BF2. Where's the fun in spaceship camping, and why would you ever willing program it into another game?

Just got back from a couple of rounds, and like I said before, still feels generic... But atleast the lag is gone; as Krenzo said the dogfights or the spaceship comand are horridly average...

Trying to capture a spawn point with more then 3 (Coming in spaceships) will cause such a clutter that you wont even be able to get to the console...

In the dogfights, the ONLY effective method of taking down an enemy is by rockets, and then hope that they wont dodge (Those blasters are just... Meh)

I might look into this alot later, when they added in more features, and possibly a better map...

Iron grip has alot more potential...

Yes, the blasters and mini cannons are almost useless. You need pin point accuracy to hit and when you do you get what 2% off enemy armor? Most people just drive up your arse and spam missiles until they run out.

In my experience the mini-cannons and blasters are very effective, you just have to be able to lead your shots well enough. I've found they take off a decent chunk; somewhere around fifteen percent sounds about right, damage-wise.

I played again today. I hit a lot more because of the lesser lag, but still I feel that the guns are underpowered. It takes several full charges to down a enemy fighter and the way some people drive... Well it's easier just follow them and wait for them to think that you're no longer tracking them and then pop them down. :D It seems that missiles have been toned down a bit on the tracking side in this new patch. Also carbine has become a useful weapon. But I must agree that it is very generic feeling mod.

A tip with the aiming. Don't shoot right middle of the targeting thingy just a bit where it would be next. I get a lot more hits that way instead of shooting when the sound plays. Also there seem to be some hitting issues. I had an enemy parked still right in front of me filling my whole screen and even though I saw my blasters hit the damn thing it didn't take any damage at all, but when I fired at the targeting thingy it started to get hits...

That update killed BattleField 2 for me, it would freeze at the login screen, I deleated the update & the game itself, & it fixed my BF2 problem.
