"the exception unknown software exception (oxc0000005) occured in the application at location 0x11743e2c" is all I get. I have redownloaded HL2, Source SDK base, uninstalled and reinstalled, and downloaded from 3 sources (mod-db, filefront, and the torrent). >.<; Am I doing something wrong here? >_>
Yeah, Dystopia and Fortress Forver both run completely fine, just checked both now. Half Life 2 runs fine too, just checked that aswell.
intell core DUO 64x I am running on windows 64bit edition (most recent updates, etc) on the intel motherboard model "DP965LT" Video card is a Nvidia Geforce 7900 GS 2gigs of ram built in sound/network and i've never had an issue with those
I haven't checked the dump file yet, but take a look at this post: http://forums.facepunchstudios.com/showpost.php?p=8146402&postcount=9
I am also having trouble as well. The game will load, show the empires animation then display the soldiers head for a second and then crash back to desktop. With the following error in event logs: Faulting application hl2.exe, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x4445c334, faulting module scenefilecache.dll, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x4474ce19, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00003e2c, process id 0xf28, application start time 0x01c83426730aca71. I have tried all of the remedies previously posted. Additionally I have attached my DXDiag.txt Any help anyone can give would be great. I just got into this game right before the patch and now I cannot play.
to clarify, I am able to load empires mod, play around with control settings, but when I connect to a server, I will be apprx 75% connected, and BAM error. HL2.exe Failed, "0x10043e2c" referenced memory at "0x0e3ba1a0" The memory could not be "read". Click to terminate program. I cannot find a .mdmp file. =(.
What does 64bit edition mean? There's a 64 bit edition of Windows Server....Vista 64...XP 64, etc. Full name, please. Also, please look what driver versions you are currently using - SiSandra will help some on that count. Posting that you have a problem without posting full system and driver specs makes it very hard to help.
