Ok I click on empires, the empires logo appears, then the screen does a one time flicker, then nothing happens, the "working" mouse symbol moves for a moment and then nothing has happened.

Tried restart steam, uninstall/reinstall empires, restart puter, sad I was looking forward to pwnage

My other games work fine, only difference I have is a 32" hdtv hooked up... first time trying empires with it,... AOC works fine though...

ok, adding -autoconfig to launch options got it, thanks for reading!

For the tech forums its a 32"hdtv probably afew years old but its badass for gaming

-autoconfig fixes so many problems that arise from changing your setup. We should really publicise that more.

this - nothing is more frustrating then finding your problem but not the solution ...

well, that just means that the problem is in config file.
-autoconfig is just pretty much the "put to default" kind of solution (but with the autodetection)

Better solution would be finding the exact command that have been causing the problem.
    just saying..
I understand what you mean :P

Yes, I completely hate when someone has a problem, asks on a forum how to solve it...then he solves it and just say "I solved the problem, bye bye"

btw once I autoconfiged, I was able to change settings, but I forgot to remove the autoconfig from start options and it reset them. Havn't tried, setting the vid settings, exiting and restarting without the autoconfig, but I seem to remember this happening before and it was fine...
