What are you talking about? It only took me a few seconds to compile it. <.<

Yeah, it took me a very significant time to build the whole engine. The best part is that you have all the debug info for everything if you do that, so you can get great crash dumps that tell you what's going on with the entire engine.

You don't have to build the whole engine though. I have the .uproject set to 4.5 (not a custom engine version), so anyone can open it without building their own engine version.

You get debug info for the whole engine? That's not fair!

Dude I have the entire source code. I can...change things... Read the source... Fix things that are broken...

    It's amazing.

I started on a BE pistol yesterday evening. I will probably get it done today, so we can test stuff.

I was also looking for inspiration and found this company by chance: http://www.rmory.net/
    They make guns. For games.

Same, and I requested mine two days before yours :(
Better to just use command line anyway, the application is clunky.

Yeah or if you must use a GUI then pick up TortoiseGIT. Has some pretty nice shortcut features in there.

I personally use msysgit; it's a command line and GUI package. I use the command line for most everything but the GUI makes viewing history so much easier.

the windows git... its ... its mostly crap. Its just a gui on top of a console. I wasted 5 minutes downloading that crap.

I think you have to download windows git anyway for better GUIs.

It might be crap for you, if you know the console version well enough. But for someone like me, who has never touched the stuff, it's really easy to used for the limited tasks I use it for.

Just an idea but.... Can we get a category on the forums for this ? (Empires 2)
Would make it a little easier to split up topics.

Personally, I use Git Extensions. It's a thin wrapper around the command line with a bunch of really useful usability things. If you don't know how to use the command line, you are going to be really confused. If you do... It's amazing and probably the best git client you can find.

It's not an official project, so no. If the project picks up pace then I've no doubt Kylegar will set up dedicated forums or whatever.

we've had projects that were supposed to be serious and got canned.

Now that you've said it, I do hope that if this ever comes to pass, it will not be called "Empire Z"
