Ello everyone, I've had this problem that I can't look up Empires servers by right-clicking on the steam icon in the bottom-right. I did not have this problem earlier but right after I began installing the test version of Empires, it wouldn't show up in the filters anymore. I tried renaming the steam.cfg to _steam.cfg, replacing the test files with the original ones and restarting my steamclient but it did not work out. Could it be that the steam.cfg removed Empires as a game from my official server list? Edit: When I look at the "Friends" tab I'm able to view friends playing in Empires servers. Still not able to filter it though.
This happened to me, it never works for the test version, but it will work for the real version if you load it up once after remounting it.
perhaps this is due to having the two versions of empires in the same folder? I will test. nope... but, I did notice this problem only today since I put in the testpires version so it has something to do with it.
Might be a gameinfo.txt issue. I remember I used to have it until I asked Dz for his gameinfo.txt. Then the problem disappeared.
post the content of your text file for me? Ahh sweet verify button. It verified... downloaded nothing and now the filter is listed... at the damn bottom of the list but, what ever... its there at least.
Here ya go. Code: "GameInfo" { game "Empires" title "EMPIRES" developer "Empires Mod Team" developer_url "http://www.empiresmod.com" icon "resource/steam_icon" manual "http://www.empiresmod.com/help" type multiplayer_only FileSystem { SteamAppId 17740 // GCF for TF2, required for ep2 sdk ToolsAppId 211 // Tools will load this (ie: source SDK caches) to get things like materials\debug, materials\editor, etc. SearchPaths { Game |gameinfo_path|. Game Empires // Game |all_source_engine_paths|sourcetest Game |all_source_engine_paths|hl2 } } }
