Ladder and Pubber Global Domination thingy Although personally I wouldn't even want the ladder, I'd just want clans talking to each other and saying "yeah ok we'll play a match on that date" and that's the end of it, no points or places, no drama and no pressure. The pubber thingy is a pretty awesome idea.

It looks to me like: More clanners voted for ladder More pubbers voted for RISK More refs voted for BOTH More assholes voted for No Season 2 So, let's do the league as a ladder I have talked with Dizzyone and he and I will set up a really cool RISK Pug thing for pubbers to sign up for. This will be awesome.
I had assumed both meant two sep clan leagues. So I'm another ref in favor of doing RISK for pub stuff. :p
lol. Why on earth would you even PUT a 'no season' option on there? You might as well put a 'your mom' option on there.
Global domination only works in RTS and Turn-Based games, because you can actually fortify territory, build up armies, have resources, produce stuff, scout, research, use intelligence, build cities, etc. Since the current server max is past that of what even the highest clan has in terms of players, we can't have any massive battlegrounds, so we are stuck with a ladder (which is by no means a bad thing). Ladder is the best tournament option, just do it, ya know?
It seems the league orginisers want something interesting to run but the league players want something simple to play...
Seems like the Risk map would be much better implemented for more casual play. Alot of gamers (like myself) will never touch a clan. With some coding you could call a vote for the winning team (or wether its just based on whose turn it is to attack) for where they want to attack (territorys giving access to certain research but not as to unbalance it). Who wouldn't enjoy smashing the Brenodi all the way to thier capital over a series of 3 or so matches that I usually play through in my random couple hours Emp Mod Flings. This would set a stone for format 2, sort of. Instead of challenging your rival clan to a skirmish, why not challenge to a war over the course of a couple hours. As for League play, your success is based on your clan, using format 2 is going against the tried and true method of the ladder used extensively through the history of competition.
We have moved ahead with the RISK as PUBBER PUG idea and it is in development. Expect it in the next few weeks.
It should be a ladder! =( Simple and straightforward. It could last for about half a year or so? The RISK format IMO doesn't work out because there're too little official maps and too little serious clans. Ladder works out for everyone.
