The inaugural season of the Empires League begins today. The following four clans have signed up for the league, and will be playing in the following order: * The Brenodi Sixth Infantry Division * Jekotian Prime Legion * Strategic Elimination of Enemy Units * Commonwealth Warriors Eight official Empires maps will be used for season one. You can view the official League map here. The first clan match will take place today at 40PM EST/90PM GMT. It will be between =[BSID]= and ‡|JPL|‡. The map will be announced at the time of the match. The match will not be broadcast on SourceTV, due to technical difficulties. However, Kylegar one of the referees, will be doing a radio broadcast. More information on the broadcast will be available later.
Aww, I wanted to observe the matches with SourceTV. Anyway, good luck to the clans. I want to be in one and participate too!
We will be using Peercast (a p2p broadcasting server). You need a plugin for winamp, or a stand alone program, both of whitch can be found at http://www.peercast.org/ The connect link will be given out shortly
Server was made of lag for me. Anyone else? Could be my mouse as I'm home and am using a diffrent then usual one but I didn't notice it yesterday. I would just get occasional freeze of mouse.
Yeh it was a very good game, I'm glad it didn't end like that other empires clan match I was in....gg BSID JPL will have their revenge! :D
Yeah I lagged aswell as did Avair (he's US, I'm EU) Especially noticed it in my mortar shots, missed like 90% of my shots while the goddamn tanks were 20 feet away
SourceTV demos don't work. They just fixed them in the latest TF2 patch, and they won't work in Empires until we can move to the Orange Box.
amazing game there, really impressive. JPL are just deadly with those light tanks. I'm surprised they didn't tech to mediums, but still, they did good.
I just finished watching the demo and i have to say that i'm impressed. What i really want to see now are more professional videos of these matches with commentary and everything. I think empires lends itself very well to being broadcast, perhaps because of all the strategy being used in the field. Organized empires matches are very entertaining. Anyone who wants to see a very well played empires game should definately check out a demo of this one. I hope the season continues with such high quality matches as this one.
