With people guiding them around like Trickster, axeman and some others, it isn't that bad actually. The tutorial also seems to have helped a lot. Kinda feels like the moment when 2.0 was released, just that there aren't 20 full servers at the same time. Also, somehow the Steam server-browser refuses to search for Empires-servers.
seemed like most of the newbs liked it, except for that one irate guy who I could tell hated everything. Hey that thread empty made has that crappy xroads pic I took and the smokespam one on shitstrict.
Spammed my classmates about it. If it were Wild West, I would've been covered in tar and feathers, but people asked about requirements and one was actually happy.
I want a framed screen shot of that so it can take its rightful place on the wall, above all the pictures of my family.
I saw that thread too, and was surprised how quickly Empires came up. But yeah, I don't know why we dropped off so quickly. We got on the steam store page in July 2008, but not the release.
There are enough servers up, but not enough players. Steam release needs additional PR at moddb, Rock Paper Shotgun, etc...
Gem Thanks mootant, you're a gem! Computer down, back to mfg. 3-5 weeks for new motherboard/processor.
wow only 6 servers up and only 2 with people playing.... this is a huge disappointment.. What happen to like the floods of noobs? 2.0 release wasn't even on steam but had like over 50 servers and atleast 20 of them with people playing it. Wtf happened?
There has been no large media release, I got at least 15 new players to join from a facepunch thread I made though, so the benefits of advertising it are pretty damn obvious.
Yeah, you guys need to get a massive PR hype going. I mean 2.0 was basically just hyped up on moddb.. I was thinking that empires being on the main page of steam would of atleast brought a couple thousand people.
