Hello der Lately my Empires keeps crashing, in the middle of the game the screen turns black, the sound freezes and hl2.exe is not responding when I open the Taskmanager. Sometimes I can play it over few maps without problems but sometimes the black screen appears seconds after joining, not depending on the maps or the server. I lowered my settings to ugly etc. but nothing changed, still blackscreen'd. Also Empires is currently the only game with the hl2.exe engine thingy that keeps crashing. Meh PC specs are: Medion Erazer ACPI x64 Win7 Service Pack 1 RAM: 8 GB NVidia GeForce GTX670 Intel i7-3770k CPU 3.50GHz
retard sounding help attempt #1: Don't have anything plugged into USB 3.0 ports while you play empires, use the USB 2.0 ports for that (if this new Erazer still has some). If that does not help at all, check if you find any logs that give an error around the time of crash and show them to us. EDIT: Stoopid Medion sells laptops and Desktops under the same Erazer brand, wtf? Can you provide a model number for your Erazer thingy?
Well, no crashes or freezes lately even tho I changed exactly nothing... sometimes.. some random lags... but they disappear
It was an immunological reaction from your OS, now it adapted the alien body of Empires into itself and should not throw out any more problems. I had the same thing and the exact same thing happened.
Well... good to know? I guess... Anyway, The problems are gone so far, only map that's makin' trouble is emp_slaughtered_somewhatversionidontknow I think it's the newest one... and the one with the most green textures in it... Anyway, if that map is running it sometimes happens that my game freezes... also, with no error or something. Just the usual "hl2.exe is not responding" shit.
