Emphasised the key point there
The question answered by that post was a "why" question and I think it was answered adequately. I won't pretend that my personal opinions don't color what I do throughout my life. It's silly to pretend otherwise.
ikr. There's like 20 and it's easy to tell from "Join Date".
Anyway, I have always been opposing 1-shot-kill weapon.
Mortar at corners, melee upgrade/mines inside rax, shotty/mines on top of ladders, spamming HIT in enemy base..etc
I lived with you guys for a looong time and there's really no reason for me to believe that more 1-shot-kill weapons are going to make this game playable for newbie.
We have testers?!
Now there are, they just dont know about it.
Happy birthday btw.
I plead bad memory but i have to admit ive never noticed you were an oldie.
~~Still no news update on Steam~~
Give us the old shotguns back!
I once asked you to 1v1 me with shotguns many months ago when we were derping around on district.
You refused because you said shotguns were shit.
So no. No old underused shotguns for you.
To be fair spartacus, Having such a close range weapon isn't something that would be picked all the time, so it makes sense you didn't see it too often. I rather liked it though, it worked well enough up close and unlike smg2 I didn't have to take accuracy upgrade to make it work, which frees up a slot.
I agree that it's a niche, but that opens it up to be a low skill weapon since it's not going to affect a large chunk of gameplay as a result of being a niche weapon.
I see the shotgun sorta as a hidden scout's "knife" if the scout was TF2's spy as well as a weapon that's approachable. If noobs are going to latch onto a weapon, I want it to be a weapon that keeps them close to combat and close to the stuff that makes Empires fun. Contrastingly, the sniper rifle is also a weapon that noobs will latch onto, but it keeps them far away from all of the cool things that make empires awesome.
Still have a preference for old shotty though, it was more fun to use.
I refused a 1v1, because shotgun is shit?
In what universe might that have happened?
If at all, I didn't play with shotgun because even back then it was a lame 1 hit kill weapon which required no skill.
Now you even made it more easy to 1 hit kill people.
I get so many headshots with it without even aiming for the head...
Maybe you should play a 1v1 with current shotguns against me,
before refusing a nerf.
He has a point, I couldn't do anything to haschtewas when he had that shotgun when we were playing on escort. Dealing security was hard enough(as in I couldn't really), but every time I saw haschtewas I was instantly dead. That just shows the difference between good players and bad ones though. Players not quite as skilled at it aren't instant death when you meet them. As I assume that 1v1 would go to show.
i remember dying to a shotgun in an earlier version and being upset about the cheapness the same amount more or less i have the other weapons.
now its just bullshit
Oh now you're willing, eh? I'll have to take you up on that the next time we cross paths. Just be ready for some mlg pro gameplay. I won't go easy on you.
I realized that 350 ping really don't work well with shotgun.
I decided to stick with automatic rifles.
cool a weapon that owns for low pings
prepare for influx of chicago players (and by extension black players)
actually i kind of like this change lets get rid of all you racist whites and bring some cool black people in. thank you spartacus for making the community better
Spartacus, trashtalk off.
You don't play 1on1.
That's is why I feel like a blind guy is telling me that the proper color of a banana is not yellow (even if I can SEE it) when you tell me that the current shotgun layout will not devastate empires infantry combat.
It doesn't on commander maps it feels like. Infantry maps yeah it's kinda bad.
