    Instead of using a respawning barracks for the first spawn point, just do like Escort and make it a flag with a high requirement for overtaking.

    Place a spawnpoint outside of the minimap's range, that way there will be a spawnpoint without being usable.

    Great idea Solokiller.
    My other idea is that I would place a prop_static barracks and then place a spawn point in that.
    However your idea is quite good.

    This does pose a problem if one team is death and can't spawn, they are screwed. The way around this is make the barracks spawn like 25 seconds after death.

    If the last point is actually capturable then games won't have to end in a slow ticket trickle when it is completely one sided and BE is just spawning and dying until the map changes.

    However this brings the issue of scout capping the flag.
    I also allow for people to escape the base now, so you can't box in the base and kill everyone.

    I'm getting happy.
    My near non-stop week of work is paying off.
    Everything I want added for RC8 is in.
    The rest is now just checking and tweaking any errors, and that is a fun job yet short.
    Amazingly enough, it could be out this week.

    I'm about 100% sure I'll be releasing emp_shadows_rc8 today.
    Sometime today it will be on the JPL server and ready to go.

    So, I've been waiting for the JPL server to have fast DL, but it is not working.
    I'm going to release this map tomorrow, and try to get a PUG going.

    Played this map on the... training server... recently, and I'll have to say, I was impressed. Looks beautiful, varied, fun as it possibly can be on a server full of emp_recruits...

    I don't really see where people say the map doesn't feel like Empires... the park is a little too bright green maybe. Otherwise, I love it. :)

    The West side of the map looks like HL2.
    It has graffiti of Breen and the Combine.
    It uses buildings like HL2.

    The East side feels like Empires, building wise.
    Some of the buildings, like the auto service is weird for Empires.

    One of the biggest problem is the car props though.
    Empires tank props are too big to use, so I can't replace them...

    You need to add some popup type stuff that explains the map or something.

    Do you really think people would read that?

    But you could always change the description when changing teams, and use a very big text to get the attention.

    JPL's fast DL server is finally working.
    I can get a game of Shadows going today; in fact, I will.

    RC8 is finally out.
    HUZZAH.

    Many game play fixes, that is about all the work is.

    Cool RC, when we played it last night it seemed initially to have really nice FPS, running nice and smooth compared to most maps, but we all seemed to be getting weird lag as well, is it because of the map or the server?
