I neather hace the time nor the skills to do this, but here it is: A large map, whith bumpy terane, and lots of vehicle blocking rocks. To get to the enemy bace tanks must eather go through a long winding pass, whith plenty of spots good for grens to ambush them; or wait for engys to build brighes over the worst bits. Resorse nodes are acsesable to infants only, 'till a bridge is built to them. Basic Terain -0% Resnodes -0% Playtesting -0% (multiple phases) Adgustments -0% Expert Help -0% Finetuning -0%
Sounds like a similar concept to tete a tete, except set in the wild. What I'm hoping for with my urban map is essentially to give tanks claustrophobia, and hopefully to reduce the effectiveness of arty. Sounds like it should be good. Remember, all mappers start somewhere, and I'm willing to help (although I'm probably worse).
Okay, first off, do I have to use the sourse SDK, or can I use g-max. All I have is 1 HL1 map to my name, and I didn't finish it. And the basic idia is to give tank a hard time, and whene aircraft get released, they'll fly above, and hunt tanks down, While infantry can just go betwean the rocks.
owned. use hammer. its ez to use. first things first, to make a block, select a block tool, design it how u want, then press enter.
Can you picture him saying "Yeah, I finished the map, but G-Max is taking a while to compile it." then two weeks later, it's finished compiling and the map can walk around.
Now that you've finished having a laugh at my expence, does anyone have some real advice. I'm using Hammer. Thanks SoloKiller and GrayClay. Now all I need are cool tutorials.
