athlon64 @ 2,6 GHz, radeon x1800 xl (I usually play at 1280x1024 with AAx4), I promise decent framerates in lower machines. I agree, my plan is to use the rock texture as base to couple with different overlays, so it should have more contrast. The ground texture will be less red, red is too predominant now. There is also a mud texture on some zones in the first pic, but almost wasn't applied yet. I think there won't be dust in this map, seems to require more fill rate power than other thing, and dust effect taxes just that.
As you wish! That's a new prop I made. Took me some time, the skin is not finished yet. The ground texture is also modified, less red, more natural.
Looks pretty nice so far. I like the general layout and looking at the last screenies posted I noticed the sky. Looks like a large moon out there, kinda hard to tell but it looks really cool. The contrast between the sky and the ground looks to give it a nice atmosphere I could almost picture myself there in person on that map. Keep up the good work. Mal
it's a slightly modified one only The sky is going to change, I like that one a lot but I need a blue sky with orange haze at the bottom. The map's fog need to be orange, so the sky haze and fog need to match as perfect as possible. That's the only way to hide an ugly rendering effect in the distance. So I'm going to make a custom sky, I'll add another moon because it looks very sci-fi like
Here is the new skybox, it matches the map fog pretty well. You also can watch the edge between 3dskybox and playing area. There is a slightly break (in the water the most), but it's not very noticeable. There is also a view from the dam, not built yet but will be very soon. I hope this map will be ready to betatest in a few days.
stonking stuff! Think those radar's need some work though, mainly on the texture. Open one of the Be building texture maps, and pinch stuff from there, then do the same for an Nf version. Then the textures will be consistant.
