The only problem with Risk-themed maps like this (which I've seen in Warcraft 3) is that there's very little stopping units from shooting across territories. A scout can see across a third of Cyclopean or Mvalley.

That means a scout in London can snipe a guy in Zurich.

psh, that's an easy shot. All you have to do is account for the curve of the earth, weather patterns, gravitational pull of the earth, sun, and moon, high tide, low tide, etc. Easy stuff.

The hard part is leading the target by 10 hours.

A good sniper can sit on top of the tower of London and snipe Hitler back in Berlin.

This is going to be a thread about how much we can flame SatanChild without him noticing while we all wait for the map to fail.

That's because the hammer viewports are very small.

That was something that got me when I first started mapping. You have to have a good idea of the height of everything or you will get some bad scaling.

I guess, to be honest I've always found that if you just make an info_player_start and build the level around that it works fine, and you can usually get away with being quite a bit bigger than neccesary.

Yes, that is Hammer's primary function.

What exactly have you been doing in hammer other than mapping?

Source is not a Heightmap engine. Do not make Heightmaps. They only fail.

If you really want a heightmap however, there is a handy tutorial however on how to make heightmaps for Hammer somewhere in the mapping forum. Why don't you use the SEARCH tool!

And yes, if you want to play your map, you need to compile it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Well no, you need to make things if you want to have them, that's how a 3d package works.

Strangely you will have to actually put some effort in in order for a map to occur.

I'm not sure how else you think you go about making a map other than, well, making it?
