    Making a real world map is all about sizing DOWN. not making it a realistic source engine model of stalingrad or other citys, If it was scaled by real world, it would be impossible to get anywhere even with vehicles(its just TOO big)
    Have 3-4 buildings, 6 or more for capital citys, place these buildings around the city flags. there you go, a scaled down city.
    Also, unless your coding boats yourself, don't even bother with normandy.
    Make a bridge from GB to the rest of europe if you do make the map.
    Resist turtle spots like turkey, spain, scandinavia ect. have bridges going to them because there is no boats to travel by sea.

    Actually, once you get going, you realize that it's not hardly any space at all for mapping. I'm tempted to start making a 1/8 scale map just for the sake of having enough room to mess around with the geography.

    Not really I don't think, I mean not if you want it to look good anyway.

    You'd have like a small portion of the river as the UK, france and spain would be maybe half a starting location, the north would be the entire northern continent.

    I really can't see it working, you'd be better off trying to make something fun rather than something realistic. Make an emp_escort style map if you want to do objective based gameplay, we could use a counterpoint to escort with the BE on the defensive.

    Ok as an example, take KUTM, which I know to be the biggest you can make a map in hammer:

    Note the barracks length indicated on britain, you can see a barracks and VF in the top right if you look carefully so you know I'm being honest.

    At that size you could jump the channel, never mind bridging it. There's never going to be enough height variation to make the map anything other than a huge great open field.

    You are going to have to work on a smaller scale.

    Mvalley is way bigger then that. I looked at it, if you take Crossroads and place it onto Mvalley it would only be half the map(in length).

    Spain would be the size of the main bases in Crossroads.

    Cities would be VERY, VERY small. But it would still be cities.

    You cant jump over it, look at the Brenodi Barracks size.

    No, mvalley is not way bigger than that, you can't make a map bigger than that.

    And yeah I am looking at it, you could jump over the channel, it's about as wide as the steps on the front of the barracks.

    You couldn't make anything bigger than a single structure for the cities without having half the map be composed of cities.

    If I place a BE barracks in hammer it apears as to be a little more then 5 pixels high and 10 pixels wide...
    But if you are right(and I don't know) I will make the channel a little bigger.

    True, but spawn point do not need to be anything bigger then that :P

    anyhow, we just all assumed that with the vast knowledge about mapping that you've showed by your posts on the forums, you might have something by now. but take your time.

    If the map is screwed up I will choose to make something like Africa or Australia. Europe is very complicated.
