emp_escort - If you could change it...

    What is one thing that most bothers you when you play emp_escort? Please leave out art tanks. I want to know what about the layout you dont like the most.

    Thread rules: Just list what your top 3 are if you have more then one. Will deleat if you dont follow these rules, dont want fire or random crap feedback. ;)

    ex.

    1. The trees are too crowding
    2. This <location> is too Imp sided
    3. Blah Blah

    This map is almost ideal to me. Especially when server set the ticket count modifier for NF to make them not suck because of arty spam. It's possible to win even if enemy is spamming the spawn of current flag.

    One thing that IMO was changed in wrong way is the gate. NF no longer can open the gate and attack artillery directly.

    I don't have a screenshot (atm, my computer is being repaired) but at 3rd NF flag there is a hole in floor. It's at spawn room.

    2nd flag is a little bottlenecked.

    Requires too many people to take back a flag.

    2nd flag can be captured but BE needs to do it quickly. I remember when playing some time ago on escort only server that I could capture first 2 NF flags with almost no effort by buying composite APC with 3phase. Defusal skill was very useful. Not sure if it can be done in 1.07 but in some earlier versions I could cap 3rd flag (2nd NF) just by driving from the ramp with max speed. I usually got stuck at the barricade (wasn't built/already destroyed) but in such a place that I captured the flag.

    4 people to take flag back can be a lot on 18 slot server and quite a little on 32 slot server. Maybe some server var to change it? The same way as with refs/tickets. Or even automatically: 5 people in team - 2, 10-4, 15-6.

    The penultimate flag should be set back to 1 person; by that point in the game there are very few tickets left for the Brendi, and it is hard to get any men through at all.

    Recently, I honestly havn't seen the brenodi win without atleast four or five clan members on my side.

    1.) lowering the limit for NF recapture (many due to low player amounts on some servers
    2.) last area being able to rebuild the wall after a period of time
    3.) removing the ability to use nukes and artilery (especially toward NF spawns)

    With the addition of the tunnel on the south side of the BE 2nd capture flag, a rifleman has an unobstructed line of sight of the NF spawn. You can spawnkill without any disruption. I'm talking about the area with the pipes over the two exit windows.

    Solution: Put a box on top of the NF platform that blocks line of sight?

    1. Second flag seems a bit too difficult to take back
    2. I think someone said something about NF not being able to open the doors.

    1. BE Should have more than 1 way out of their base. (besides ladders, I mean a new direction.)
    2. needs more cover at second to last flag
    3. not really gameplay, but would like 3d skybox water at the last flag. :)

    1.)The skybox goes under the map, causing more lag. Please align the skybox with the edges of the level itself, if you don't get what i mean i'll create a map to show you.
    2.)Use a filter_activator_team to control the door at flag 3 going to flag 1, just set it so BE can open and NF can close, if you don't know what i mean or how to set up the entity i'll make a map to show you.

    As far as I can say, since the new version(s) of the map are out, BE hasn't won a single round. They get the second flag (first one is in their base) and then they will bite their teeth out on trying to get the third until running out of tickets. And that isn't real winning for NF.
    Sure NF wont destroy their vf anymore, but...it's just not that fun anymore it was at first.
    Give BE the chance to win again, even if that means that NF can detroy the VF.
    So if I could change escort, I rerelease escort v1...

    I think that escort was more fun in NF side so you got most of good players in NF and it's hard to win with BE noob team.

    I have one idea that might be useful for BE. Make gate open quicker. On BE side every seconds counts when you're doing APC rush.
