Apparently, some people have been trying to use walls of late to reach places where they are normally not supposed to go. I think the screenshots will show what I want to say. I do believe the mapper did not intend for this situation to happen. Even if it was intended, it effectively ruins the whole game by allowing easy access to the enemy base. This has to be rectified immediately.
manually edit the maps with the no engi build thingies (like areas of glyson city and the baddass map with the dam and the satellites) about 1/3 up the cliffs. its a bitch to do, and wont help if the com is in on it, but its something.
Fucking exploiters... The best thing you can do in that situation is fortify base and let them waste tick... oh wait, thats one of those fucked up settings servers that needlessly multiply tickets to insane values instead of what is appropriate for the player count. Nevermind.
Also, what's up with this fred fellow? His words make me sad. -ontopic I remember seeing this during a beta test a while back. Can't we just move the invisible wall closer to the edge of the ridge?
someone has shown me how to do this, and i do it on occasion, not because its cheap mind you, but because the opposing had done the same, so i did it to tear down their base. It -is- done with walls, it should be fixed, because its extremely cheap. halfway across the map, you can actually drop down inside the map's terrain, walk around and shoot out through the terrain, but be protected by the terrain, this also grants access to get behind the enemy base within the terrain, and stick up a lvl3 ml turret+radar+ a,,p crate and just blast the hell out of the enemy cv with missiles and seismic grenades. It doesnt help if said engineer is a squad leader either...then the whole sqaud jumps in. Its happened to me a few times before, and its irritating
Remember the good ole days when walls could be basically stacked and this was soo easy to do on emp_crossroads.
Hey, I'm in one of those screens! Yeah, that was a fun game, we surrounded the enemy and took over their base! But I agree, some of these bugs need to be ironed out before the gameplay gets ruined for the unlucky side of each map.
I was squad revived up there a couple of days ago. Because our base was surrounded by tanks i went as an experiment to see if it was possible to ninja. the comm had placed some turrets so it was impossible. if you can make a barrackst there that's really bad though.
*GHOST* clan is bad for doing this, apparently: 'its not exploiting' and i should: 'quit whining' i joined a game and the entire enemy team had done this, which lead to a stalemate on the map which lasted for about a hour (on 0 tickets so no-one new could join the game) so you can imagine why i was 'whining'... imagine if this was you first time playing, it doesnt give a very good impression of the mod. Ive seen them do it a few different times, and now from there careful teachings, i now know how to exploit 3 new ways. ...and so do half the other people on the server. *edit* and no i dont mean the turret blocking thing, i mean blowing the CV to unreachable places etc.
when u try this, u get 1 headshot. when u try this, u get 10 headshots. the only effective way is to bombard the tower with mortar (from the other tower if possible). but this is pretty dangerous.
