    -changed out the cliff textures, ground textures, and added the rocks with new textures
    -raised skybox significantly
    -minor optimizations
    -added detail sprites to ground
    -added particle support for rain or other effects

    Why do I get the impression that new cliff textures have lower resolution and look like crap?

    Mmm I dono, they are the same resolution, 1024 is pretty standard. It's hard to find higher resolution textures. Maybe it's missing the noise overlay, I'll check tonight.

    I was going for the same look as the older canyon that used the shitty hl2 grass. Gray cliffs beat yellow IMO

    You should post pictures with old materials too. I don't know if it's detailmap or normalmap but something is missing.

    also disable shadows given and received for the ref prop rocks so we don't get those weird ass shadows

    Ya drummer I allready did that and your right mootand the cliff was missing the detail noise overlay I allready updated the texture to the svn havnt done a recompile though

    Needs rain ambience :(

    Also, the new rain effect is fucking incredible. I won't be using func_precipitation ever again.

    Is it on by default or did you put it in the particle manifest yourself?

    If it's on by default it needs to be changed. Canyon isn't ready for rain this patch. Next patch it will be!

    Do worry Keef. I looked for particle effect that is being loaded and fails. Of course you didn't put the fucking manifest in so I couldn't find it. Remove the particle or change the manifest.

    Fill the holes with dead tanks! You can still use the dead tanks as cover instead of using the holes.. And trust me I love the craters for my mowtar but I am tired of tanks/cv's getting stuck in them.

    Haha I don't get stuck in them, its the dumb ass commanders. It helps me get kills, shit I killed 4 people in one with a single mowtar shot today. I just don't want to see hobbes or one of FN198s alt accounts ruin another game on one of my favorite maps.

    Anything that causes asserts in the code is wrong. Either remove it or add to particle manifest or I'll revert the BSP.

    It's causing an error because it's not finding the particle.

    There's 3 solutions here:

    1) You deal with the fact that canyon calls a nonexistant particle, and let it remain optional, if the player's PC can handle it they can turn it on.
    2) We force everyone to have rain which hasn't been tested properly on low end machines
    3) We remove rain entirely and make it so nobody is able to see it, regardless of what they want.
