I think you do something with a thingy file, I can't quite remember. And I'm probably confusing source with Oblivion.
The map uses the same texture as emp_arid. I thought I only needed to put the materials/emp_arid/blenddirtdirt_silk.vmt into the res file because the textures are standart empires one. People however that have arid downloaded will not have that problem.
version2 has: more yellow/red light fixed shadows more plain terrian so its easier to drop buildings transparent water nf and be start in the top north centre and the bottom south centre removed two refinerys to make the map smaller made the pools shallow so you cant drone vehicles in them made the west chokepoint tighter start ref for both teams gives now 5 res to compensate the loss of one resnode per side
thats the laziest mapping i've ever heard of. You do know there's a bunch of noobs in empires now right? and that arid is not an official map.... also, the colors in this map make me want to poke my eyes out. whats the deal?
Thats not lazy, one line in the res file was wrong and it shouldnt be a problem with version2. Whats the deal is? Its my map and I can give it any color that I like, thats the deal. Im well aware that people that turned the brightness way to high on their monitor will have problems but that is not my problem.
shadows are yellow the bridges need to be made changes so it is more obvious they are unbuilt. lower the water maybe?
SHADOWS ARE NOT YELLOW USE THE NEWEST VERSION the problem, if I lower the water is, that i would need ladders or something similiar and that means you cant cross it as infantry at every place anymore
I just checked this out quickly and I noticed a few outstanding problems; - texture scale on water is generally too large in most places, and water should move slower - minimaps shows up as white space - still needs a new skybox Otherwise, lovely stuff mayama.
TELL THE SERVER(S) TESTING IT TO RUN THE NEWEST VERSION as for the bridges... put a solid pillar in the water to hold up the bridge (after it is built). the contrast between the solid bridge supports and the transparent bridge might work to alert people.
